Victoria's POV:
The all-too-familiar and highly annoying beeping of my alarm tears me away from my peaceful sleep as always. I reach over and shut it off, slowly sitting up as well. I feel the sting in the side of my neck, and immediately remember the bite mark Gerard gave me. Crap, I completely forgot: I'm gonna have to find some way to hide that today...
I get up and go into the bathroom to brush my teeth and wash my face like I always do, but also to get a better look at the bite mark in the mirror. I lean in closer to the mirror and study it carefully. Just two small holes with some redness around them ...maybe I can just use some foundation to cover it? I go into my cabinet, grabbing the small bottle of foundation that I don't usually use, unless I have a huge pimple on my face or something. I squeeze a little onto my fingers, and slowly smear it onto the two holes in my neck. I immediately notice it's not really helping, the redness is being covered, but the holes are still extremely noticeable. I rinse the foundation off my fingers in the sink and put the bottle back in the cabinet. I'm just gonna have to wear something to hide the bite...
I go back into my room to choose my clothes for the day, and immediately notice by looking at my window that it looks darker outside than normal. Could the weather actually help me out today? I quickly grab my phone and check the weather, which says it's going to be very cloudy and cooler outside all day. Yes! Now I can wear a scarf without being as suspicious!
I start choosing my clothes, deciding on my black long sleeved Jack Skellington shirt and my black skinny jeans, before I go through my drawers to find a scarf to hide the bite mark. I'm rifling around trying to find my black and gray striped one, when I have a sudden realization: a scarf might still be too obvious. No one else in school would care, but Frank? He knows that Mr. Way is a vampire, and he knows that I was alone with him yesterday. If I show up with a scarf on the day after I hung out alone with a vampire, it would immediately lead to the conclusion that he bit me and I'm trying to hide it. Ugh, I'll have to find something else. I'm gonna be late at this point if I keep taking so much time...
I go back into my closet and see my black leather jacket. Hm, it has a collar, maybe I can hide the bite that way? I take it and put it on, and then go over to the mirror to pop the collar up completely, adjusting it so the bite mark is completely hidden under it. Finally, it's covered, and it will seem like I'm just wearing the jacket because it's colder out. I have nothing to worry about now.
I quickly do my eyeliner and straighten my hair, trying to go a little faster since I wasted so much time with the bite mark. I then grab my backpack and rush downstairs, grabbing a Pop Tart and slipping my black leather combat boots on and tying them before heading out the door. I figure wearing boots today will also help to hide the actual reason I'm wearing the leather jacket, and plus, they match better.
I know I definitely took longer this morning, because as soon as I stepped outside, Frank was already there. The last thing I was expecting to see was him on my porch, so I practically jumped out of my skin when I suddenly saw him there.
"Jesus Christ, Frank! You scared me! What are you doing on my porch?!" I say to him.
He just laughs at me we both start walking. I unwrap my Pop Tart and start eating it since I obviously didn't get to yet. "Well, you were taking forever. What did you want me to do, stand on the sidewalk and wait for you over there the whole time?" Frank jokingly asks, smiling. "Why did you take so long this morning anyway?" he asks.
I obviously can't tell him I was trying to hide the bite mark, so I quickly make up a slightly inaccurate but still reasonable lie. "Well, I had my clothes for today already put out, but then I saw that the weather today was colder, so I had to scramble around and find this jacket, a long sleeved shirt, and the boots. I basically had to change my whole outfit, so that's why I took so long this morning," I told him.
