Time skip to right after Victoria's 6th period class
Victoria's POV
My 6th period class just ended, and I'm just waiting for Frank again outside the classroom so we can head to 7th. Frank and I are officially less than 10 minutes away from finding out if Mr. Way really is a vampire. I've been waiting for this moment for the past 24 hours, and I'm a huge mix of emotions right now: excited, eager, jittery, jumpy, desperate, nervous, scared, overwhelmed—you name it. But most of all, I'm relieved that I will finally know the truth about him, and I won't have all this confusion and curiosity constantly running through my head. I see Frank coming downstairs and we start walking together. Thankfully we can walk a little slower today since we still got to class a few minutes early yesterday, even though this class is so annoyingly far.
"Well, Vic...today's the big day, you excited?" Frank immediately asks me.
"Oh you know I am, I'm definitely a bit nervous also, but mostly excited. The moment that I've been waiting for the past 24 hours is finally here, and I finally will know the truth about Mr. Way," I answer.
"Exactly, why are you a bit nervous though? Knowing how curious you've been and how long you've been waiting, not to mention your vampire obsession, I thought you'd be fully excited by this point," Frank says.
"Well, I'm not that nervous. I just have a tiny bit of nervousness in me because what if he pulls something today in class like he did yesterday? Like staring me down with those wide eyes and huge grin, or being overly interested in something I say?" I explain.
Frank doesn't seem worried. "I don't think he'll do any of that today. After all, yesterday was the very first day of class, and his first day ever at this school. He was bound to act at least a little weird. Plus, we were sitting at the back of the classroom yesterday. Today we'll be sitting at the very front, so he can't really stare you down without it being too obvious." He says.
"Yeah, I guess you are right. In that case, I'm just excited and relieved that I'm finally going to find out the truth about Mr. Way today." I say more calmly.
Frank smiles. "There's the Vic I know." We both laugh.
By this point, we had reached the 3 floored area of the school. We climb up the 4 painful staircases to the 3rd floor, once again being out of breath by the time we get to the top. We walk into Mr. Way's classroom and—yes! The front row of desks is completely empty. Frank and I immediately take 2 empty desks next to each other in the front. We're just waiting for the bell to ring now as more people come into class.
This is it, I think to myself. Mr. Way won't be a mystery anymore by the end of today's class...
The bell finally rings. Mr. Way walks in a second later. I look over at Frank and we both smile. Here we go...
"Good afternoon everyone! I'm really looking forward to another class with you all." He says. As he walks to his desk, he looks at Frank and I and makes a shocked face, he's probably just surprised there's people sitting in the front row of desks for once. But once again, he seems to be looking at me the most...
He sits at his desk and starts taking the attendance. He must have some pretty good memory of names, because he didn't even have to ask anyone, he just glances at everyone around the classroom and types into his computer. Once he's finished, he starts talking to the class again.
"So, since you're all seniors this year, this class will be different than your English classes in the past. There will be less lectures and your grades will be much more based on projects and essays instead of smaller assignments. In fact, your very first grade in this class is an essay that will be due in 2 weeks. The topic is simple, it just has to be about what you want to do after you graduate and how you decided on that. You all know how to write essays by now, so I figured I'll just give you all the class period today to brainstorm and start writing your rough drafts. You may talk amongst yourselves as well," Mr. Way finishes explaining.
