Victoria's POV:
I immediately stop walking and turn around to look at Mr. Way, who's still smiling at me again. Why does he want me to stay behind for? After that incident of spilling his cup of blood and him looking at me happily, is he giving me a violent warning to not blab his vampire secret to anyone else at school? No, he looks too happy right now, not mad, so that can't be it. Well, guess I'll just have to find out what he wants. Frank looks confused as well. I wave him off, letting him know he can leave. I don't know how long Mr. Way is planning on keeping me after, and I don't want him getting home late. I can just text him about what Mr. Way says to me later if he's really curious. I walk back into the classroom, seeing that Mr. Way has pulled up a small chair next to his desk. I go over and sit down, setting my backpack on the floor. Mr. Way gets up to close the classroom door and comes back to sit at his desk.
Mr. Way smiles at me. "How are you, Victoria?" He asks. I zone out for a second before talking. Look how sharp those fangs are...
"Uh, I'm good," I answer, not really sure why he's making small talk right now.
"That's good. So, you're probably wondering why I wanted to stay after class today. You're not in any trouble, don't worry. I just have something serious I wanted to tell you," he explains.
"Oh..ok," I respond, pretty much at a loss for words once again.
Mr. Way continues, "So, I'm pretty sure that by now, you've realized what I actually am. There are a few things that have happened in the past two class periods that were huge signs of it. However, instead of me just telling you flat out myself, I want you to tell me what has happened," he says, with a slightly more serious look on his face now.
So he wants me to give him a rundown of the "vampire" stuff that has happened in his classes? Why can't he just tell me, "what you've been thinking about me recently is right. I'm a vampire" and then let me go? I know I was really excited about Mr. Way being a vampire, and I still am, don't get me wrong. It's so cool, but he's kind of scaring me now. After I tell him what happened, what is he gonna do? Lunge at my neck and bite me then and there? Or just...ugh, I don't know. He's been staring at you this whole time Victoria, waiting for an answer! Come on, SPEAK already!
I nervously clear my throat and start. "Well, yesterday in class, when I said I liked vampires, you got really excited and interested. You made you eyes big, gave me a huge smile, and said 'Really? That's interesting.' and kept staring at me for a long time after that for the rest of class," I finish off.
"That's right. Go on, now what happened in today's class?" Mr. Way says, still with that unsettling serious look on his face.
"Uh, the sun came out, and shined through the blinds of the window next to your desk. Then a patch of sunlight touched your face and you...uh, hissed really loudly and closed your eyes and blocked it with your arms before quickly shutting the blinds all the way. Then when someone asked if you were okay, you very nervously said that you had a really bad light sensitivity that makes your eyes hurt a lot if even the tiniest amount of sun gets in them. Then, I asked you if you were okay, which you said you were. You smiled at me, and I saw that you had two sharp fangs, then you accidentally knocked over your coffee cup and spilled it, and I saw that it was actually filled with...blood." I finished off again, a little nervous about saying the word "blood" in front of him.
Mr. Way smiles at me once again. His smile used to creep me out, but now I find that it's actually a relief from that serious face he was doing earlier.
