59.

It was excruciating. The pain in your back refused to die out as you were attacked yet again by many all at once. Saying you were tired was an understatement, you were beyond exhausted. They just kept coming and coming. 

You finished off a few of them, but one managed to grab you, pinning you down to the floor. Your eyes widen as your wrists were captured, making you unable to use either of the guns in your hands. Sweat drips of your forehead as the demon presses your body deeper and deeper into the ground, and you could feel your backbone almost wither away because of the pain. Your legs were trapped under his, and you could do nothing except glare at the demon above you. 

It stared down at you with those eyes, those eyes that showed it wasn't human. You saw the smirk plastered on its face, your jaw unknowingly clenching at the triumph erupting from the demon's body after successfully pinning you down. You wished you could cut that head off. Its smirk widens as it lowers his head down, no doubt trying to kill you with its sharp teeth. 

But, something unexpected happens. As you squint your eyes in anticipation for the impact, you feel a drop of liquid hit your cheek. You freeze as you feel another, your eyes widening. Looking up properly at the demon, you see its eyes; they were a normal white with aqua blue irises. You were entranced. But you were snapped out of that daze as you notice the tears dripping from its now normal eyes. Except, the tears weren't so normal, they were tears of blood. That was what had hit your cheek. The demon's proud smirk had now vanished as it cried, staring down at you. You were too shocked to say anything. With a breathy voice, it mumbles, "Help... me..."

Your eyes widen further, a soft look coming over your face as you stared up at the now human looking man. 

"Y/N!" You hear someone shout, recognising the voice to be Kai's. Before you could do anything, the demon was flung off of you, landing on its back. You look up at the person who had done it, seeing Kai with a gun pointed at it. 

You stand up, looking carefully at the demon as it stood up too. All of a sudden, when it spotted the gun Kai had pointed towards it, the black in his eyes had returned. It's soft look was replaced with an angry one, teeth being bared out towards Kai. Kai motioned for you to move back, glaring into the creature's eyes. "Stand back, let me take care of this." He says, voice angry.

You could feel your throat go dry as you shook your head, lunging forwards and attempting to pry the gun out of his hands. Kai's eyes widen at your acts, as he pulls his gun away from your reach. "What are you doing?!" He asks in disbelief, staring down at you as you glared at him. No words were spoken in reply to his question.

You step back, looking at the demon. It was staring at Kai with an intensity, eyes narrowed with a dark aura surrounding it. With no hesitation, the demon jumps forward towards Kai, ready to attack. 

Your eyes widen as you shout, "No!" before stepping in between your friend and the creature. It stops within a few centimetres of you as you looked at it carefully. Kai stood behind you, confused as his forehead creased slightly. You didn't know what you were doing, but you couldn't allow Kai to simply kill this one, no way in hell. From what you saw, it was a human who needed help. You weren't going to let it be killed. 

It stares at you, intensity now gone. A hint of curiosity laced its features, but its teeth remained bared in a threatening way. You took a step forwards, and another step, and another before standing directly in front of it, tilting your head upwards slightly to get a better view. You slowly lift your right hand up, till your fingers touch the cold skin on its cheek. Finally, your whole palm lay flat against its cheek as you caressed it gently. Kai's eyes widen as he mumbles, "Y/N, are you okay?"

You don't reply, watching as it leaned into your touch. It heaved out a deep breath before its eyes shut close along with its mouth. When its eyes reopened, they were the blue that you had seen before.
