Reflection

Hi everyone! Wow, there's a lot more "everyone" than I ever expected in 2014 when I was eleven. I'm only back because I was speaking to a friend about this thing I wrote when I was young and on a whim I decided to check the reads. Honestly, at 22k, this is the most successful thing I've ever created. I am not as ashamed by that as I might have been in the past. I think it's really cool that eleven year old me managed to make a small impact on some people, even if she subjected them to their first ever fanfiction or if she scared them with her gratuitous and frankly ridiculous dark violence. It's a little piece of the person I was and I'm glad it's still out there, floating around. It's a fun little time capsule in these troubling days. As bad as the writing in this story is, it's something that meant a lot to middle school me, and it shows me just how far I have come, nearly six years later.
Anyway, every time I check on this story I give it a little facelift and redo the cover. The last cover was trying a little too hard to pretend to be something it's not, but I quite like this new one. It screams a little more sophistication than the actual contents of the story, but it's the most true to my original vision and the dark tone, plus the whole mirror thing.
If this story impacted you in anyway, I want to thank you for engaging with the fantasy of a little girl who wanted to be a writer. It was and still is a dream of mine to write something that excites and interests people, and for a very brief and very shameless moment I had that, as silly and incoherent as the actual writing turned out.
