Chapter LV

I wouldn't go into my dorm until I was sure everyone else was safe. Newt kept screaming my name, but I didn't respond. I was about to return when I saw the first Griever walk through the Doors.

I ran inside and, as soon as I passed the Door, Ben, one of the Builders, immediately hammered some boards on the door, but if a Griever tried to break in, he would easily do it.
Newt grabbed me, and I rested my head on his shoulder.

'Do you have a bloody death wish?' He asked me.

'Not really, I just had to check that everyone was inside.'

The Death Creature's noise became louder and louder.

'Do you have your dagger?' He whispered in my ear.

I nodded.

In my dorm everyone was clutching their weapons. I was about to tell them to be ready, when a scream echord through the house. We were as good as dead. There was no way we could fight.
We all stayed quiet and still. I held my breath. It was silent for a while.

I stood up, and carefully exited through the window. The Death Creatures were leaving, dragging someone with them. One of the front dorms was completely destroyed.

'They're gone,' I shouted.

Slowly, everyone started to come out.

'Who was it?' I asked, beggining to sob.

'It was Charlotte,' Anne said, tears in her eyes.

Charlotte was a Guardian, and, although she wasn't as close to me like Rita and Sofia, I really liked her.

'I told you we would be safe,' Thomas said.

'How did you get out?' Newt asked.

'I'm smarter than you think. See, they only took one person,' Thomas said. 'Don't worry, they won't come back.'

'Just one person? Well, next time we'll just sacrifice you and your friend. Just shut up,' Anne said.

'Sorry,' Thomas replied.

'You're sure they won't come back?' Sofia asked.

'Yes,' he said.

'You shouldn't be here. Now lets get you back to your friend,' Cam said, dragging Thomas back in.

As soon as Cam came back, I asked:
'Should we trust him?'

'We have no other choice,' Louise said.

Unfortunately she was right.
