Minor AU; They either meet in high school, or they met as kids, but Slade moved away with his Mom after his parents split, then moved back after his Dad took him in after the events that occur with his mother. Scenario:
Kiku was a senior in high school, and recently she felt rather odd. She noticed a group of girls had their eye on her, but they were nothing like her, and she didn't understand why they kept a close eye on her.
One day while she was getting lunch, the leader of the group grabbed her arm and began to tell her that she'd make a good girl to sit with them. They'd talk, but once the clock hit three she'd ignore her ass.
That's when she noticed a tall boy that was sitting alone watching her and the other girls intently. The girl waved to him, causing the boy to raise a brow.
Kiku was a squeaky mess as she was sat down in between the girls that immediately began to mess with her hair, and comment on how they could 'fix' her make up like theirs.
Kiku was quick to jump in once she managed to find the opportunity to.
The girl placed her hands against the lunch table, shaking her head.
"I don't want fake friends, come to my house, meet my brother, maybe smoke a lil' weed if you want, let's die together, friendship that'll last forever-"
When the girls simply nodded and mokingly repeated her words, the girl sighed softly. When they started talking badly about people they didn't know, that's when she was jumping up from her seat.
"I don't want no fake friends, and I'm not gonna be a Barbie for you, let me be me. If you're going to mock me, I ain't gonna do this-" She commented.
That's when she sat down by the boy she saw before.
What surprised her was when they instantly clicked and ended up playing a joking game of patty cake, before the short girl felt herself get pulled into his lap as strong arms draped around her waist.
