Scenario:

Slade was dead. Let's just get that little issue out of the way. He was dead, but he was dead and had died while in love.

The thing was, Slade had been born a Demon in life, so even though he had died, he simply came back as an Undead Demon who took this as his sign he was supposed to pursue the love of the woman he had thought he wouldn't see again for many years.

Being a Demon, he simply began to protect her. He saw no reason to try and hide he was back from her. She had always accepted him no matter how bad he got, so he knew he'd be welcomed with open arms by her.

Though as a Demon who had died and came back, he found that he had certain cravings he hadn't had before, and they were targeted towards the woman he loved.

He'd feel the urge to watch her squirm beneath as he bit her, or take a taste of her blood. He did his best to resist these urges though, not wanting to hurt her. They weren't even dating yet. If he scared her away, he'd lose her for sure.

Though one day, the girl came to him, holding her hand, asking him if he could help her bandage it after she had accidentally cut her hand on a pair of scissors.

Unable to really resist, he ended up kissing the wound, before he licked the blood. He looked up, expecting the girl in front of him to be horrified, but to his surprise, the girl's eyes had darkened, and she seemed to be attempting not to make any noise.
