AU Type/Scenario:

Kiku and Slade have gone to school together for years, since they were children.

Slade was an outcast due to being extremely secluded by his Mother, and in his senior year he became even more outcasted when it was found out by everyone why Slade's mom secluded himself so much.

Kiku was a timid and nervous girl that stuck to a smaller crowd. She was kind to Slade though, she thought he was sweet, even if he was a bit odd. When his secret was outted, she felt bad for him rather than disgusted and asked him to be her prom date.

That night the two spent together was one of the few nights Slade got to feel normal, and what made him feel best was when they shared one kiss before prom ended.

Though Slade nor Kiku knew what to do after that, neither had ever truly experienced actually romance before.

Now they were attending the same college and both were in their final year.

They both lived off campus, and were sharing the same apartment building.

No matter flings Slade had; something that was rare, but happened, he couldn't forget that one kiss.

No matter how many men she talked to, she couldn't forget the one boy with the sad eyes that she saw every day.

They still talked, but neither really talked about that night, but it constantly plagued both their minds.

They'd always find themselves talking, and leaning in, about to kiss, but one would pull away before the other could place their lips on theirs, having had their name called, or hearing something that distracted them.

That was until one night fate seemed to play a part.

It was storming out, and the power in the apartment building was out, and the back up generator was out.

Kiku had gotten home late this day, and couldn't get into her apartment; needing electricity for her key card to work.

The girl ended up knocking on Slade's door.

When Slade answered, Kiku turned red, having noticed he was shirtless.

She explained she got home after the power went out, and couldn't get in her apartment. She wanted to stay with him since he was her best friend by this point, and didn't want to wait however long it took for the power to come back outside her door.

Slade was quick to lead her inside his apartment; lit by candles, causing a dim; or as Kiku called it 'romantic light.

Though as she calmed, she found herself hugging onto him, her head laying against his chest.

"I..." She glanced up at him, only flush a bit.

Small hands moved to his back, gently grazing the one tattoo she knew rested there, her nails grazing and rubbing gentle circles into the inked skin.

"You're beautiful... And I love you, I can't forget that kiss, no matter what, your kiss is the only one I want. I... I never want to be without you, you've stolen my heart... Will you please steal all of me with it?"
