I stormed off to the detention room with a slam of the principals door. I can't believe that man, I mean first he has an inappropriate argument with Dylan - which I'm still confused about, wasting the precious time that I could of spent in biology class and then to top that off he sets me a detention for no reason. I had nothing to do with it, does he actually think that I would willingly let some boy especially Dylan smack my butt in front of the whole class? I don't think so.
Wait.
Why am I stressing out over a detention, it's not like I haven't been to one before. In fact I've been to plenty however this is different because all the other times I knew what I did wrong, but this time I'm innocent can't he see that?
As I made my way to detention I felt a hand firmly wrap around my wrist.
"Hey, have you not heard me yelling for you to slow down and wait up or were you just ignoring me?" He loosened his grip as I turned around to face him. His voice wasn't angry but it wasn't soft as it was before, it's more between the two.
"Both," I replied sharply, moving away from him and continuing to walk.
"And here I thought that we were friends," Dylan said with a half smirk half pout painted across his face. Wow I can literally feel the sarcasm roll down the tip of his tongue.
"We're far from that Gray."
With that I swung the detention door open and went to sign in at the front desk before taking a seat right at the back of the classroom.
Dylan and I were the only ones in detention and the teacher running the detention was Mr Burke. Which is great because due to his newborn, Mr Burke hasn't been getting a lot of sleep at home, so he tends to do his sleeping at school.
I ignored the fact that Dylan sat down beside me and took my book out. I'm not one to read much but if it means I get to read ahead for English so that I could sleep in class, I'll take the offer.
"I can't believe I'm saying this but, I'm sorry for spanking you and embarrassing you in front of the whole class," Dylan says in a hushed tone almost sounding sincere. "Oh and if you tell anyone, I will deny it and make it seem as if you're falling head over heels for me and just want to get my attention,"
"Thanks, but as good as your apology sounds I don't need your pity and if you ever dare to touch my butt ever again I swear you will have difficulties walking and they won't be because you legs are hurting if you know what I mean," I said, smiling wickedly.
"Okay well now I see that someone's pissed. Wait is this your first detention?" Dylan asked in a mocking tone, looking amused but concerned at the same time.
"No! Why would you think that?" I shrieked at him, getting annoyed.
"It's just that you don't seem like one to get detentions, that's all," he said with the same amused smirk on his face.
I really can't believe him right now, he's totally judging me by the way I look, I hate that and out of all people I thought he would've known. He needs to stop acting like he knows me when he only knows a small fraction of who I am.
"Look Dylan you don't know me, what makes you think that I'm a 'good girl'? And just because I get bullied it doesn't mean that I'm weak or can't stand up for myself," I stated angrily.
"Alright calm down, I didn't say that you are weak, I just said that you don't look like one to get detention," Right, so now I feel like a total and complete idiot. I'm totally overreacting.
Way to go Lily.
Why am I so defensive around him?
Oh, maybe the fact that he left you broken and you had to learn how to put all the pieces back together by yourself.
