[Warning: some strong language]
"Megan, you do realize that everyone is still going to recognize you right?" I asked my best friend who was in the middle of putting super tinted sun glasses on.
"Well there is less of a chance if I look like this," she waved around her face and body.
We were currently sitting in Megan's car in the farthest, most darkest corner of the school parking lot. You may ask why? Well the reason behind all of this hiding was because my crazy not to mention paranoid friend was looking for ways to disguise herself. This was the absolute strangest that I've ever seen my best friend.
She arrived at my house this morning or shall I say almost morning at 5:05am. She was standing on my front porch in her pajamas claiming that she needed to use my closet. I found this incredibly weird but nonetheless allowed her to rummage through my closet until she pulled out an old black hoodie of mine and a black pair jeans. When I asked her why she needed my hoodie, which was from my 'Reminder' collection, she said that she needed to look unnoticeable and that I wasn't allowed to ask any questions until she was ready to answer.
So here I was, half awake and sitting next to my stressed out friend, listening to her complain about how she can't believe that she made a fool out of herself on Saturday. I was guessing she was talking about the almost striptease that she performed at the college party but I was too afraid to question her because as I said before an angry Megan is not a good idea.
"What the fuck is that?" I shrieked when she pulled out a furry aviator hat that looked like a bunch fox tails stuck together. If you haven't noticed I was pretty good with holding back my curse words but when she took that thing out I couldn't control myself. It was that bad.
"Too much right? Thought so," she said shoving the hat back into her bag and pulling out a black beanie.
"So how do I look?" She asked pulling the hood of the hoodie over her head. I didn't really have much words to describe her appearance apart from appalling and horrendous but I couldn't tell her that. So I ended up opening and closing my mouth like a fish out of water.
"Good that's what I like now let's go and blend in with the rest of the people," Yeah right. Like 'blending in' was what we were going to be doing.
"You mean stand out?" I asked nearing the main entrance which rewarded me with a painful punch to the right arm.
"Are people staring? I can't see anything through these shades," Megan whispered as we walked along the hallway of our very busy high school. I shook my head to indicate that there was nobody staring but boy were people staring. It was like we were a disease roaming the halls of Eastwood high, everyone seemed to step aside. To say that we were the centre of attention was understatement.
"This is me Megs, you're going to have to carry on walking by yourself. I suggest for you to take the glasses off and just keep your head down." I advised her before walking into my first period class. Math. Which I was late to by the looks of it.
Everyone was already seated when I walked in and the lesson had already begun. I got a disapproving look from Mr Stephenson and was waiting for the long lecture about tardiness to start but it never came.
"Take a seat," he simply said turning back to the board before scribbling something down.
Could this morning get any weirder?
