Yesterday before Karen left she asked my dad and I to come for dinner at her house.

Surprisingly my dad was in a good mood when I came home from school today. He seemed to be different. I guess whatever Karen said to him yesterday must of got him thinking again.

Dylan wasn't at school today, but when I was driving home I passed him and as expected he was making out with some sketty cheerleader on the back of his bike.

We needed to be at their house by seven o'clock, it's only four and my dad is already dressed and has fixed his hair, I think he even had a shower which was very rare. As for me, I haven't started to get ready and I'm not planning to anytime soon.

I'm not very happy that I have to attend this little 'reunion', seeing as I don't want there to be one. I'm happy the way it is now, I don't want to be hurt again and I don't want to go back to who I was. I have come to terms with that over the years. I tried talking Karen out of it but there's no way around her.

The hours flew by, as they tend to when you're on the phone to your best friend. I informed Megan about everything from the very beginning of our friendship, she tried her best to understand and comfort me but I don't think anyone can unless they've actually been through it. I don't blame her though because she's doing all that can be expected from a friend.

I decided to wear a blue floral dress with cream flats and a cream clutch bag. I left my hair down as always but decided that I should add slight curls in it making it look like it was in beach waves.

I'm wearing more make up than usual, but that's just because Megan insisted that I put on some eyeliner and bronzer to make sure that my face is "perfectly sculpted".

I heard a faint knock on my bedroom door and I was suddenly overwhelmed by my dad's appearance. He was wearing dark wash jeans and a shirt. His hair was slicked back and his face looked brighter.

"Honey you ready?" He asked in a fatherly voice.

"Yeah, by the way you look great dad," I smiled at him and got my jacket ready to leave. He gave me a warm smile and for once in a long time I felt like he was my parent instead of the other way round.

As we approached their house I was becoming more nervous with every step. I knocked on the door and waited for someone to open the door. We were welcomed with two smiles, Karens and the principals.

"Hey, thought you'll never make it," Karen said, pointing us to the dining room.

"Well, at least they're on time honey," the principle said in a relaxed tone. I noticed that the way he spoke was very different to the way he spoke in school.

I soon noticed that Dylan wasn't at home. He was probably still sucking face with that cheerleader.

"I'm sorry that Dylan can't join us, I've tried calling him but he isn't answering. I really don't know where he could be." Karen apologized noticing the weird expression on my face.

Well I have a clue.

She looked worried and I should probably say something but I'm not going to get involved in their relationship before things start to get out of hand.

"When I saw you two in my office yesterday, I didn't realize you two knew each other," the principal said looking at me with apologetic eyes. He looked as if he was asking for an explanation.

"Yeah, well we don't anymore and I want it to stay that way," I said harshly, not wanting this conversation to go on.

"I'm sorry if I asked you something that you don't feel comfortable talking about and of course my lips are sealed," he apologized and I only now realized how rude I had come across.
