"Janis?" Cady's voice rang through the phone. "I need to tell you something. Can you come over?"

"Caddie, it's almost 1am. What's so important?" Janis didn't really care about what it was. She had liked Cady for months now, and took any opportunity to see her very seriously.

"Please, just come over!" The other girl pleaded from the other line. "It's better to do it in person." She paused before adding, "It can't wait til morning!"

Janis sighed. She looked like a ghost without her heavy makeup on and wasn't sure if she should dress up to go out. "Fine, I'll be there in 15, okay?"

"Okay." Janis could practically hear her smile from the phone. "Thank you. Drive safe!" And with that Cady hung up.

Janis threw on some jeans and added her favourite jacket over to her pajama shirt. Grabbing her phone and keys, and she rushed to the car. She knew it couldn't have been an emergency, she just wanted to see Cady.

It didn't take too long for her to pull up at the Heron's house. It was a small cottage-like home, and Janis always felt out of place whenever she visited it.

As she rang the doorbell, it didn't take long for Cady to open the door. She was in her pajamas, a dress with African animals printed on it. She looked really cute, and Janis was definitely blushing. She prayed that Cady didn't notice, and simply smiled at her.

Cady returned the quick smile and pulled her into a tight hug. Janis was not a big hugger, but for Cady it was always different. Lasting only five seconds, she was disappointed when it had ended.

Cady beckoned for Janis to enter her home, sitting and facing each other on their little blue couch. "Hi." Cady whispered, moving a bit closer to Janis.

"Hey." She said, smiling at the girl she really liked. They had never really spoken this quietly together before, but it felt romantic to Janis, whether or not Cady felt the same. "What's up?"

Cady took a deep breath. "I have something to tell you, and I don't want you to freak out but I just need to tell you today, right now."

Janis looked at her. "Okay," she said, confused by what was about to come. "Go on."

"Okay, don't freak out." She said quickly before releasing the confession she had been waiting all week to say. "I kinda like you."

Janis's heart paused. "Wait, wha-"

Before she could say anymore, Cady grabbed her and pulled her in, connecting their lips. It was magical, vibrant, and smooth. Every part of Janis's body was on fire and couldn't believe what was happening. As they continued to kiss, she quickly pulled away.

Cady's face fell. "Oh my god. Janis, I-I'm so sorry, I-"

Janis didn't want her to feel sad, and she was disappointed in herself for pulling away. She lay a finger on Cady's bright pink lips, and pulled her in close. "Caddie, can you say what you said a moment ago, once more?"

"Uh, I kinda like you?" Cady replied, quizzically. Why did she have to repeat herself? I mean, she didn't mind but it felt strange, confessing twice.

Janis's eyes shone. She could listen to Cady say that all day, all night. "Yeah, but you didn't let me finish." She pulled Cady even closer, and whispered into her ear. "I kinda really like you, too."

And they kissed again, their lips connecting perfectly. No one else in the world mattered, excepting for the two girls, enjoying their moment together forever.
