Nights After Storm

Chapter 6

I came out of the bathroom and dressed myself in denim shorts and a black tank top since Jay was coming with his football jersey -Black was actually kind of my favorite color so was aquamarine and neon green/blue-.

I had washed my hair so It was now in its natural state all curly and bouncy I just topped it off with a band over it, I wore some long leg boots and headed down the stairs.

I noticed Liam was gone so I asked my mom.

"uhm.. Mom? where did Liam go?" I asked with concern.

"oh sweetie he said he had a game today so he had to go" my mom said working on her computer.

I knew he wanted to join the team but I didn't know he had joined them.... If he did why didn't he tell me we are like best friends right?

My mom turned to me and soon there was a worried expression on her face "sweetie are you okay? Is there a problem?".

I was confused at first but then I remembered that I had a horrible expression on my face because Liam didn't tell me he joined the team I think too much it's not safe.

"yeah mom I'm fine".

Just then I heard my phone buzz I brought it out of my purse and it was Jay.

"Bye mom I'm off to the game" I said kissed her on the cheek.

"bye! stay safe and be back before 12 okay?"

"yes mom" I said closing the Door and working to Jay's parked car in front of my lawn.

"hey!" I said while his familiar scent filled my nostrils.

"hey" he said pulling me in for a hug and I hugged him back.

He handed me his Jersey I put off my tank top and threw on his Jersey. When I was done he had an unreadable expression on his face.

"what!?.... If you have that look on your face another time I'm gonna run out of here for help cause you look insane" I said laughing he joined me.

"I'm insane for you babe" he said with a wide spread grin.

"stop that!" I said hitting him on his arm.

"ouch!" he winced rubbing his arm "violent much?" he asked raising an eyebrow.

"nope only to those who deserve it and plus it didn't hurt I know it didn't" I said buckling my seat belt.

"you are right it didn't" he said starting the car.

"I'm always right" I said having a proud grin on my face "common let's get to that school".

The drive there was silent till he broke it.

"Are you going to homecoming?" he asked looking a bit nervous but why will he be what was on his mind at this point I wanted to ask but I just left him.

" yeah, why won't I? And miss all the fun? No way!" I said laughing.

"well I don't know.....  I wanted to ask if you will go with me?" he said his gaze not leaving the road.

"first of all I am already going with Liam" I said looking around the car.

"ouch you just let me down" he said with puppy dog eyes I just rolled my eyes and laughed.

"secondly you have to do better than asking me or any girl out in a car on our way to a game" I said still laughing why he shook his head. 

"I will keep that in mind" he said winking at me.

"I warned you already stop" i said laughing and blushing a little bit.

"I can't stop but make you blush you look cute" he said looking at me.

"anyways are you going for homecoming?" I said trying to change the topic.

"I will when I find myself a date since I just got rejected" he said parking the car and I just laughed.

The game was over in a flash and Jay came jugging up to me from the field.

"we did it" he screamed twirling around like a child because they won.

"yeah you did, you where actually pretty good" I said wanting to give him a hug but he was muddy and sweaty.

"I know I was" he came to me trying to hug me.

I stopped him with a finger "oh no that is not happening you are muddy and sweaty" I said stepping back.

"oh really" he said moving towards me.

"please no I said taking another step back but he just kept coming forward.

Soon I took off running into the field and he immediately caught up with me obviously because he is an athlete and pulled us both to the ground with me on top of him we were giggling like 5 year Olds playing in the rain.

I rolled onto the grass and sighed.

"thank heavens this is not my shirt" I said looking down at the now muddy shirt.

"it is now" he said with a smile.

"awwn I'm soo honored" I said rolling my eyes and laughing sarcastically.

"ok let's get you home" he said helping me up.

"why now? I have like an hour" I said.

"ok then so what do you want to do? " he asked intertwining our fingers.

"Well we could have dinner I'm starving" I replied.

"sure let me get changed" he said taking off his Jersey I couldn't help but stare at his perfect body.

"you like what you see" he said snapping me out of my trance.

"stop being distracting" I said folding my arms.

He came close to me  and I shoved him sending him to the floor.

"that is for what you just did" I said laughing.

"YOU ARE GOING TO PAY FOR THIS! " he yelled try to stand up and laughing.

I decided to make a run for it having a head start while he got himself up.

For the first time in forever I got to the car before him, I leaned on the car waiting for him.

That was when Maddie decided to approach me i completely forgot that Maddie was at the game until now and she was coming to talk shit about her ex. can't she just get it that they are over and leave me alone besides not like she needed to know but there was nothing going on between us.
