Part 23

~Lilith's POV~ I was awake, but I wasn't awake. My eyes wouldn't open, but I could hear voices around me, and I think I was in a hospital bed. "Okay, so it's just a small concussion?" I heard Justin - at least I think it was Justin - say. What? Are they talking about me? "Yes, she'll be fine in a few weeks. We can let her go home tomorrow." I heard someone say, I'm assuming the doctor. I finally was able to open my eyes, as soon as I did, Justin rushed to my side. "Baby are you okay? How are you feeling?" He asked, and I chuckled just a bit. "Uhm, yeah. What happened?"

"You passed out, and hit your head real hard on the floor. You have a small concussion, but you'll be okay." I sighed in relief. "And I can go home tomorrow. Right?" I asked, even though I knew the answer. "Yes. Tomorrow at around 5 o'clock." Justin said. "But... Where is home?" I know that sounds like I'm a five-year-old, but it's a legitimate question in my situation. When I said that, I swear I heard both Justin and the doctors heart breaking. "I'm not sure, Lily. I'm not sure." He said. "Tomorrow you'll be meeting with a social worker." The doctor spoke up, and my face fell. I don't want to see some stupid social worker. I turned to Justin. "Will you be there with me?" I asked him. "Of course I will, if you want me to." I nodded at him and gave him an 'of course I want you there!' Look. He smiled. After that the doctor told me to press the 'call' button on my bed if I needed anything, then left the room. Silence fell over the room for a few seconds, "I-" Justin and I both started simultaneously. "Sorry, you first." Justin said while giggling. "Justin, I can't live with my dad. What am I gonna do?" I said tearing up again. Justin then sat next to me and pulled me into his arms, and started rubbing my shoulder. "I don't know Lily, but it'll be okay. I promise." It was calming, but I didn't believe him. How could I? My dad hasn't changed. Not one bit. People like that don't just change. Here we go, I'm going back to my old life. Except the only person that got me through childhood, is now dead. I was going to have to face him alone, no more mom. "I'm with you." Justin said as if he read my mind. By this time my tears were flowing freely, by the gallon.
