Part 24

~Justin's POV~ "Lilith, wake up Lil. The social worker will be in here any minute. Wake up!" I said trying to wake Lilith up. "Aghh, five more minutes?" She said turning over. I laughed. "No Lilith you have to wake up now!" ~Lilith's POV~ "No Lilith you have to wake up now!" Justin said laughing. "You have to be awake to talk to the social worker, babe." All the memories from last night flooded back into my mind. The social worker. My concussion. Probably going to live with my dad. I pried my eyes open, to see Justin sitting in the chair in the corner of the room. He's been here at the hospital the whole time, like three days straight. I just realized he hasn't left my side but once, and that's because he had to go to one little meeting, that didn't even take long at all. Wow, I can't think of anyone who would do that for me, even Kelsey left. Which I wasn't mad at her for, don't get me wrong. "Justin?" I said. "Mhm?"

"Thank you."

"For what?"

"For staying here with me for this whole time. Not leaving except that one, short time. It really means a lot. But, I do have one question."

"What's that?"

"Uhm," I paused, wondering if I should ask him this... "Why? Why are you so good to me? I'm nothing special."

"Lily..." He then chuckled just a tad but stopped. He sat next to me on my bed, grabbed both my hands and looked straight into my eyes. "Lilith! Why have a stayed? Because now you mean so much to me, I couldn't just leave you when you needed me most. What kind of person would that make me? And Lilith, your more than just 'something special'. Much more. You are the most amazing girl I've ever met, and-" we were interrupted by the social worker walking in. "Hi Li- Oh! I'm sorry, am I interrupting something?" The social worker widened her eyes when she saw us so intently looking at each other, and we broke apart immediately. "Oh uhm.. No ma'am." I said, clearly embarrassed, even though we weren't even kissing or anything like that. "Okay, well I'm Mrs. Hartley. I'll make this as quick as possible." She then proceeded to tell us a bunch of pointless stuff before she got to the part where she actually told me where I'm gonna live.. My fathers. "So, we've found that there is no choice but for you to live with your dad. If you have any questions, just call me." She handed me a business card that listed two phone numbers, 'work' and 'cell'. Like I would ever call. "Oh," Mrs, Hartley said right before she exited the room. "Also, take this number." She handed me another business card that was clearly for a therapist. "Why would I need this?" I asked, feeling a little insulted. "Well, if a child looses a parent - especially if they're close to that parent - it's really hard for them to get through it. So if your having trouble you can just call that number." She said smiling. "I'm not a child." Is all I said. She gave a fake smile, looked at the floor, and then back up at me. "Of course not dear. Bye!" She said leaving the room. I rolled my eyes, I hate social workers.
