Here I was, waiting in the waiting room for my turn. I had already planned what to do. Walking out onto the field, my eyes met those of Aoyama's. The blonde-haired boy flashed me a dazzling smile.
"And, fight!"
Aoyama immediately started shooting his navel lasers at me, but I dodged and teleported behind him. I touched his shoulder and teleported him out of bounds. That was anticlimactic.
"Sorry, Aoyama-kun. I'm doing what I must, " I said apologetically.
"Aoyama is out!" Midnight announced, waving her pom-pom down.
I heaved a sigh of relief and walked back to my class. I was immediately swarmed by my classmates' compliments. I sat down next to Deku and looked at the boy who was jotting down notes.
"Hey, what's that?" I asked out of curiosity.
Midoriya immediately jumped back and closed the book, his pen flying off the stands. I teleported it into my hands and passed it back to him, which he graciously accepted with his trembling hands.
"O-Oh... Its nothing... I just jot down notes about people's quirks on it, " he stuttered.
My eyes lit up. I bounced on the tips on my toes and a grin spread on my face.
"You do? Can I see?" I asked.
Midoriya finally came out of his shell and started showing me all his notes. He turned to a certain page and pointed the drawing in the middle, which I recognized as myself.
"I even have one of you, " he exclaimed.
Tiny little scribbles we're scattered across the paper, arrows pointing towards different words and drawings. I marveled at his drawings and notes. Amongst all the chaos of the notebook, it looked really neat.
"That's so cool! You gave a complex quirk analysis of everyone, even including their weaknesses and strengths!" I complimented, giving him a thumbs up.
Deku scratched the back of his neck and chuckled at my enthusiasm. He had never had this kind of response to his notes. Usually, when people saw them, they would cringe in disgust or call him childish.
"Thanks Yumé-san, " he murmured.
"Please, call me Sakura-chan, " I beamed in delight.
He gave me a thumbs up and a small smile. My heart practically swooned at the sight of the freckled boy. Midoriya quickly said goodbye, leaving to prepare for his match with Todoroki by looking for the boy himself. I groaned. I didn't really want to watch the match, so I just went over to the back to buy some strawberry milk. I pressed the strawberry milk option and the drink came out from the vending machine. I bent down and grabbed the beloved pink beverage, tore the plastic surrounding the straw open, and stabbed the straw into the carton. I was about to drink the milk when a familiar black-headed boy who I despised.
"You! You're the boy who's all bite no bark who pushed me!" I confronted the boy who was walking my way. To be honest, I had totally forgotten his name.
"The boy's name is Natsuhiko Koyama, " he said, irritated.
"What, someone upset that they didn't even get into the final competition?" I mocked.
Usually, I wouldn't mess with people like this, but this was the bitch who purposely pushed me and declared war on me. He scowled me, his nose wrinkled.
"So all of you 1-A students are like that, huh?"
"Speak for yourself, you're the one who claimed you were my 'worst nightmare', " I scoffed.
"Well, so you want to be friends?"
I was dumbfounded, to say the least. Who did he think he was? Insulting me, then asking me to be his friend? I questioned his sanity but at the same time, I couldn't really speak for myself, since I literally accepted his proposal.
"Sure, "
While I was talking to the boy, I missed the last match of the first round, Ochaco vs Bakugo. I wasn't there to see her put up a fight, I wasn't there to see her fling a hail of meteorites at Bakugo. I wasn't there to see Bakugo completely annihilate the falling rocks and Ochaco. I wasn't there to see her defeat. But I was there to comfort her after, even with no knowledge of what happened. I rushed into the waiting room that Ochaco was in, and I heard what had happened between Bakugo and Ochaco.
"Ochaco! I heard you practically threw yourself into battle, even with those injuries, " I reprimanded her. I heard sniffling coming from her, and my face softened. Deku came rushing in right behind me.
Ochaco explained that she was fine, stating to us that she couldn't lose again. I let out a high, rubbing circles into her back. I knew she wasn't okay, but the poor girl was putting up a facade for our sake.
"The first match of the second round is about to begin. Contestants, please proceed to your respective waiting rooms, "
"Sorry for wasting your time, guys. I'll be rooting for you, Deku, " she says, putting a bright smile on. It pained me to see her put on a smile in the emotional state she was in.
"You were great too, Ochaco. One day I know that you'll beat us, " I smiled.
I saw Ochaco smile back, and Midoriya and I walked out of the room. I gazed back at the door of the room, wondering if I should go back. I felt Midoriya's arm on my shoulder.
"Yu- Sakura-chan, she's strong. She'll be fine, " he gleamed.
I nodded my head. Yeah, Ochaco was strong. If she needed us, we would be right by her side. Midoriya proceeded to head to the waiting room for his match with Todoroki, while I headed back up to the stands. I shivered at the thought of Midoriya going against Todoroki. Midoriya was strong, but if he kept injuring himself with his quirk, Todoroki would win. Actually no, I was scared for Midoriya. It wasn't that he was no match for Todoroki, it that Todoroki didn't use his fire-side for a reason.
I was scared that Deku would make him use it somehow.
