*Lincolns Pov*

I awoke to a bright beam of light directly focused on my face. My eyes were heavy and there was a constant throb in the back of my head. My hands were wound with rope and were pulled tightly behind my back. I was tired, I was limp, I was useless.

"Ready to tell us who the other girl was?" Asked an officer dressed in blue.
"I told you before, you won't find her until the day I die!" I retorted, fearing the safety of Hazel. Such words cost me another blow to the side of my head. I winced in pain as blood dripped from the side of my head. "So you really are a stubborn one," he turned to the other officer beside him, "Peters, go get Riley. I think he might know a thing or two."
"Who's Riley?" I asked, a taste of hatred burning in my mouth.
"Riley's the one in charge of visitors here at the lock up. We hadn't a visitor here for months. Then suddenly you come here and within days there's someone coming to see you? We knew she wouldn't get you into trouble and just forget about you." I could feel my hands beginning to shake and my lip tremble as I observed the man named Riley enter the room.

He handed the questioning officer a book which he had tucked under his left arm. It had the word 'visitors' written on the front. My heart began to rapidly beat. "What have we got here?" He asked eyeing me cunningly. "Hazel Ives. That's her isn't it?"
"That's who?" I asked playing ignorant in an attempt to avert their questions.
"The girl who visited you several days ago. The girl who should've been caught when you were. The girl who has broken so many laws for such a long time."
"That wasn't her!" I spat with glaring eyes.

"I don't believe you. I believe she start her match making journey just yesterday and if my predictions are correct, she should be arriving in Albium later this evening. Wouldn't it be a shame if say, something were to happen to her?" He smiled a sly smile that made my stomach churn.
"You wouldn't dare!"
"And what makes you so sure of that?" he asked skeptically. My mind was spinning. I needed someway out, someway to save her or warn her at the very least. "Lincoln, here's how it's going to go. You can tell us all of the information you know about Hazel Ives and we will release you under certain conditions, or you can continue your petty act and get you both into further trouble. The choice is yours."
They were officers who worked for the government. Manipulation was what they were trained to do. I should've known better than to fall for their empty threats but for some reason I opened my mouth and it all came out.
