TODAY was the day that Winnie was finally moving out of the Barnes house, much to Bucky's dismay, he was still hoping the Steve would change his mind and decide to stay at his house for a while until he got back to his normal self but he didn't.
Over the past few days, the brunette girl had been packing up some of her clothes and items she had with her. Most of her items were already at the Rogers residence, just a few items here and there. Winnie had a lot more stuff at the end of her time with the Barnes family than she did at the start.
When she first told the Barnes family that she was moving out, there had been a few tears shred from Mrs Barnes and the youngest sibling. Mrs Barnes went on and on about how upset she was about her 'leaving the nest,' as she put it. Mr Barnes however was proud of Winnie, yes he was a little shocked to see her go but he brushed past it, wanting to think about the silver lining instead.
Winnie grabbed the last box that she had that was filled with her stuff and put it out at the front door. Before doing so, she took one last look at the room that she had lived in for two years. Those two years were some of the best years she had ever had. A sad smile formed on her lips as she took that last glance around the room before leaving.
As she put the last box by the door, she heard Mrs Barnes begin to tear up behind her, small whimpers escaping her mouth. Winnie turned around to look at the woman she considered as a second Mother with a sorrow look. She walked up to Mrs Barnes and gave her a tight hug. The two stayed there for a moment before breaking apart.
"I'm gonna miss you, Wins," the older woman sniffled, a sad look on her face.
Winnie let out a breathless laugh, "You're still going to be able to see me, I'm just moving a few blocks down."
Mrs Barnes sighed and pursed her lips, "Yeah, you're right."
She didn't want to admit it but Winnie was actually really upset for leaving. This place had been her home for two years and now she was leaving it. She was going to miss Mrs Barnes' breakfasts that she made every morning and the warm aura that the house gave off.
Her and Mrs Barnes talked for a while, waiting to Bucky to hurry back with Steve. They had just went back to Steve's place to go drop off some of the last remaining boxes before heading back. Soon the front door opened revealing Bucky and very worn of Steve, as if he had ran all the way back.
