November 2017
It had been two weeks since the party with the boys, and Calum definitely took advantage of Sierra relaying my number to him through Luke. We usually exchanged texts at least once a day, and some nights he would FaceTime me before bed. The FaceTime calls usually consisted of ridiculousness and him either trying to make me laugh or show off his dog, Duke. I'd rather see Duke than him, but I wasn't going to let him know that. My phone buzzed, a reminder for today's schedule popping up on the screen.
A text from Calum also popped into my notifications.

Gotta work hard before you can play hard, talk to you later Cal
I locked my phone and left it behind on my bed as I took a seat at my desk. My phone never failed to distract me, and while I didn't have a lot of work, it still needed to be done. I was a social media manager for a small boutique in Los Angeles, and I needed to plan out what I was going to post this week based off of the folder, Alicia, the general manager, had emailed me. Sometimes things got switched last minute, but usually the outline I created using the photos and articles she gave me was how the week went. Today was outline day.
Sierra brought home my favorite Starbucks drink, an iced peach green tea with lemonade, and sat on my bed silently as I worked. She really was the best roommate. She knew I really didn't enjoy being alone all the time but needed quiet to focus on my work, so she would usually just sit in my room with me while I made the outline. It was also good to have someone to bounce my ideas off of if I needed to.
After about an hour, I shut the lid of my laptop and turned to my beautiful roommate.
"What's the plan today, S?"
She looked up at me shrugged. "I didn't really have one. Luke and the boys are having a bros-only night."
"You know what that means?"
"What?"
"Chicks-only night," I responded, pushing myself off of my chair. "You know the drill." Sierra smiled brightly and popped off the bed, handing my phone to me as we headed towards the front door. I pulled on my sneakers and grabbed my keys from the hook. I waited for her to tie her shoelaces before we left the apartment.
Target was a 10-minute walk from our place, and we tried to make it habit to walk if we weren't loading up on groceries. As soon as we stepped through the door, we went our separate ways per usual. We took turns on who got what responsibility; this time it was Sierra's turn to pick out snacks and wine and my turn to find a movie and a set of ridiculous matching pajamas. It was our tradition, and I adored my growing collection of ugly pajama sets.
Thanksgiving was a little over a week away, and I couldn't help myself from grabbing two turkey onesies from the rack. I threw them over my shoulder and went to find a movie. Sierra was a big fan of romantic comedies, so I grabbed the newly released 'Me Before You' DVD before going to check out. I met her by the entrance, and I made sure to keep the onesies hidden for later. We walked home in comfortable silence, just enjoying the nice weather and the sounds of suburban LA.
