Chapter Twenty-Six - Ask You Out

Luz's P.O.V

Last night's events replayed my head over and over, not leaving my brain for one second. The next morning we were both blushing and stumbling over our words as we spoke. I didn't know what to say to her after the kiss we shared. A part of me thought to just act normal, just act how you were before dating but then I remember that we either fought or had sweet moments. I guess we'll just have to figure out what we'll be like.

Were we even dating yet? Sure we kissed and had a great moment together but I haven't asked her out! I should come up with something, blow her away with my amazing skills at asking her out. That's a bit dramatic but that's what I wanted. She deserved something amazing as we set off to dating, at least I hope we will be dating.

"Hey Luz!" I turn to see Amity running towards me with a huge smile on her face. She put her arms out, ready to embrace me in a hug, to which I accepted greatly.

"Hey Amity, what ya doing?" Don't get me wrong, I love her hugs but I didn't want her to get in trouble with being late to class. My thoughts were quickly forgotten as she gave me a quick kiss on the lips. Millions of people passed by us, who knows what they were thinking when they saw that.

"I just wanted to see your cute face before I went to class," A giggled escaped her lips as she saw my flustered face, "And to tell you to meet me at the park after school, okay?" My eyebrow rose in curiosity, why did she wanna meet there?

"Sure, can I ask why?" I smiled, hoping that she would tell me even though I knew she wouldn't. She wanted this to be a surprise, I'm sure, whatever it was that she wanted me there for.

"Nope, it's a surprise." She smiled, booping my nose, before walking away to her class. Holding her in my arms just then made me feel so weak yet strong. My body was physically weak whenever I saw her but I felt strong, enough to not care about the people that stared at us in disgust as we kissed.

I trudged to my next class, passing the principal's office. A girl caught my eye, sitting on one of the chairs while facing the principal. Her magenta colored hair was pulled up into a high bun and she was throwing her hands around as if she was mad about something. I don't think I've seen her before, who is she?

I ignored the girl for now, running to my science class that I was already late for. The teacher glared at me as I chaotically stumbled into the room. Everyone just stared at me, making me feel extremely awkward. Once I sat down their eyes left me, letting me breathe out in relief.

The day went by slowly, people kept looking at me with disgust causing me many mini blowups. I wanted to break them all in half and tell them that us being a thing wasn't gross, not even close. People just needed to get their heads straight. Being who you are shouldn't be frowned upon, so why are so many people judging us?

"Tell it to me straight, did you really kiss her?" I heard Ember's voice approach me from behind as I stabbed my fork into my food. Usually her voice was full of annoyance or confidence but she seemed vulnerable, as if this hurt her somehow.

"Ember...well, she kissed me and then I kissed her and now we're possibly together?" Her face fell as I crappily explained what had happened between us. Her brown eyes settled on the empty seat next to me, avoiding my eyes. This was really bothering her but why, she doesn't like either of us.

"So you're dating, huh?" Her voice was quieter than I've ever heard it before. Why did this bother her so much?

"I think so...Ember why is this bothering you so badly?" I turned around to give her my full attention. Amity would be sitting next to me soon, would that make Ember even more upset?

"You don't know, do you? About me and Amity?" My stomach twisted at the words, what did she mean by that? Amity hasn't told me anything about Ember, mostly because she hates her. So what was Ember referring to?
