THE COLORS OF ORANGE AND PINK ETCHED THE SKY IN LOVELY STREAKS AS SNOW FLUTTERED DOWN. Artemis Lupin rested her head on the chest of George Weasley, eyes trained upon the translucent sky. She had been in and out of sleep under the wool blankets that George had retrieved from his dorm. No one had found them up on the Astronomy Tower, and the morning was by far her happiest moments.

The previous night replayed in her mind. The party had dwindled down, but Artemis and George didn't want to say goodnight. Instead, they had gone back to their dorms and changed into more comfortable clothing.

Artemis had been the one to propose staying in the tower with the Marauders' Map sprawled out by the makeshift palette they were resting on. It was one of her better ideas because nothing could ever beat falling asleep in his arms after looking at the constellations.

"Happy Christmas,"George whispered, pressing a soft kiss against her forehead. Artemis just breathed out with ease.

"Happy Christmas, Georgie,"Artemis couldn't help but grin sheepishly. She glanced up at the teenager.

"We should get back,"He whispered, leaning her forehead ever so slightly against hers."I promised Fred I'd be back to exchange gifts."

"Yeah,"She agreed,"McGonagall asked me last night to meet with her in the morning."

"Surely she doesn't want to give a lesson today."

"I have no clue, but if I am not in the dorm when she gets there, I will be in so much trouble."

Once Artemis bundled up in her new hand-knitted, soft purple sweater, she wrapped her gryffindor scarf around her neck and met Professor McGonagall at the portrait of the Fat Lady.

"What is this all about?"Artemis asked curiously, following the head of her house down the moving staircase.

"I have arranged for you to have lunch at Three Broomsticks."McGonagall had a hint of a smile on her face."You told me that you didn't want to miss Christmas with your family. I reached out to Estella, and well, they're waiting for you."

"What?"Artemis asked with a hint of emotion cracking through her voice."Professor...thank you."

McGonagall just smiled at Artemis, and it was obvious that over the past four years, the older woman had grown quite fond of the young girl."Don't forget your private lessons start back next week. You're making great progress. We don't want to lose momentum."
