Stuck for eternity (Jasper Hale)

chapter 1

Starting my Freshman year, again. It's the second semester, which means everybody found friends, but I never had trouble finding friends. Being a vampire means being frozen in time. I'm eighteen, well have been for a while. I don't even know how I found this town. "Forks" It even sounds dumb. Anyhow, let's get this over with.

I looked out my window, it was raining. At 6 am I took a shower and changed into something warm, not that it's cold for me, but, I'm trying to blend in with everyone. I took my books and went to school. I got into my car and went to school.

I parked my car in front of the school I took a deep breath, the smell of blood filled my nostrils. It took me a long time to learn control, but feeding off animals for a century does the trick. I got out of the car and immediately my head was filled with voices. I am a mind reader, among other things. I started walking towards the entrance when I picked up an unusual smell. 'Vampires' I thought to myself. I turned around and saw them. Four vampires staring at me. 'Who is this girl' the blond girl thought. 'You can also read minds?' A brunette guy asked. 'Yes.' I answered him. 'Come with us after school we need to talk.' he said. Weird, but still, I nodded. Curiosity kills the cat, or, well... a vampire.

As soon as I came in a guy with black hair ran to my side "Hi I'm Eric. You are Daphne Wright the new girl right?" He asked. "Yeah, how did you know?" I asked."You are the new girl, the new shiny toy in this school." He said. "A yes, small town. Everybody knows everything. Right?" I said. "Yep! Pretty much!" He said. "Eric, leave the poor girl alone, let her breathe!" A girl said. "Hi, I'm Jessica. And I am not proud that this idiot here is my friend." She said. "Hey!" Eric said and we all laughed. "Well here's your classes and locker number. We don't have any classes together unfortunately but there's still lunch right?" Eric said. "Ok, then see you at lunch!" I said.

We parted ways as I left for my locker. I put my books in and closed my locker. "Sorry to be nosy but it looks like we have the first class together, you wanna come with me?" One of the vampires said. "By the way, I'm Alice, Alice Cullen." She said. "Nice to meet you. Daphne Wright." I told her as I shook her hand. We walked into the class together. We talked for most of the class since we both went through this a few too many times so we knew everything. "Well I gotta go but you'll be having the next class with my brother Edward." Alice said. "Ah, yes the mind reader!" I said.

She chuckled and went to her next class. I walked into my next class and sat beside Edward. "So, what brings you to Forks?" He asked. "Dunno, the weather?" I said and chuckled considering that it was mostly raining here. He also chuckled and we talked while doing our assignment.

~time skip to lunch~

"So, do you want to sit with us?" Alice asked. "Sorry, I promised Jessica and Eric that I'll sit with them but maybe I can sit with you tomorrow." I said. " Sure! Jasper is also coming tomorrow!" She said in a weird tone but I just shrugged. I could've read her mind but I didn't want to, for privacy's sake. I went to the cafeteria and found my human friends. "Hi Daphne!" Jessica said. "This is Mike and Angela, they are also in our friend group." Eric said. "Well guys, I think we are going to be good friends!" I said. We talked and laughed for the whole lunch and parted ways to our classes.

The rest of the day went fast. As I was walking out of the school Alice came up to me and said "Follow our cars, we're going to our house!" "Yeah, ok!" I said. As I got to my car I saw them leaving so I followed. I drove behind Edwards Volvo. I noticed that we are going further into the woods. 'What have I gotten myself into?' I thought. After some time I saw their house. It was huge. I pulled up and got out of the car. Alice gestured to the main door.

As I got into the house I saw that it was elegant and full of windows. They led me into the living room where two vampires a bit older than the rest sat. "Well, time for a proper introduction! I'm Carlisle, my wife Esme." He said gesturing to the woman next to him. "This is Emmet, Rosalie," he said gesturing to a buff dark-haired guy and the blonde girl "and Edward and Alice. Jasper should be joining us soon he had something to take care of." Carlisle finished. "Well, I am Daphne Wright for the time being." I said. "So Daphne, mind telling us your story?" Alice asked. "For starters, I am actually 137." I said. "I was born as Lady Daphne Tilsburly the third of Gardenia. I know, a mouth full." I said. "THE Lady Daphne, the one in the history books?" Alice asked. "Yeah! I was supposed to marry this guy who I didn't want to marry so Lord Damian who I wanted to marry and I fought for our marriage until we got permission. I was visiting my dear friend in America when I started to feel unbearable pain. They took me to a hospital where one of the doctors, who was a vampire recognized me changing and helped me fake my death. I picked up my jewels and eventually sold them so I have enough money for... well... a life. A year after that I found myself in front of the Volturi who were interested in me because vampires who are not bitten usually have multiple gifts. So they 'helped' me discover my gifts and asked me to join them. But I saw what they are like so I didn't join them. Since then I have been on my own. I finished many schools and colleges, I also worked and yeah." I finished.

"Excuse me for asking but would you mind showing us your gifts?" Carlisle asked. I nodded and started. "Well, you already know I read minds. I can move things with my mind." I said. Pointing my hand at a remote control I made it fly into Edwards's lap. "I also have the power over the elements." I light a flame in my arm then took some water and put the flame out. Then I made a tiny tornado in my hand and last but not least I made a tiny earthquake. "I can also make plants grow." I pointed my hand at a dead flower in a vase and made it look like it was freshly picked. "The shield so you can't read my mind or use other powers on me if I don't allow it" I finished.

"Well, that's impressive!" Emmet said after a long silence. I chuckled. "Alice can see the future, Edward reads minds and Jasper controls emotions." Carlisle said. I suddenly smelled something infatuating.

"What smells so good in here?" I asked. Alice grinned. "What smells so good?" I heard a voice ask.
