Stuck for eternity (Jasper Hale)

chapter 2

Still Daphne's pov
It was like hearing the voice of an angel. I heard footsteps getting closer when I saw him. I felt like my whole world stopped. All that mattered was him. All of a sudden everybody disappeared and I just saw him. There aren't words that could explain what I felt towards him. I saw my life play out in front of my eyes, every single moment with him. He was perfect, inside and out, his figure gave out confidence but his eyes reflected peace, love. He had shoulder length blonde hair and was beautiful in every way. I didn't know much at that moment, all I knew was that I was meant to be with him, I was drawn to him.

Jasper's pov
When I got into the living room I saw her. No one mattered, except for her, she was the only thing I saw. As my life flew in front of my eyes I saw myself with her. Her presence lit up the room, and everything about her was perfect. She has light brown hair just a bit longer than mine and it perfectly framed her perfect head. She had a small nose and full lips. My mind went blank as my heart sang the same thing over and over: that's her.

Back to Daphne's pov
As I blinked the room came into the view again. Everybody had a smile upon their faces. I stood up and came closer to him "Wright, Daphne Wright." I said. (James Bond who:)) He just stared at me. "Ummm, Jasper uhhhh Hale." He said nervously. I stuck my hand out for him to take it but he pulled me into a hug. Not that I mind...it just felt so right...being in his arms, it felt so natural. "Well, this is awkward for the rest of us." I heard Emmet say. "Ah, Emmet. Always know how to ruin a moment, don't you." Alice said. Jasper and I sat back down my hand still in his.

"I would like to propose something." Carlisle said. "Well, since, you know, this happened," Carlisle sad awkwardly, "maybe you should come move in with us. It will be much easier for you when moving and you would be living with your mate." He said. "Oh, I mean I don't want to bother you..." I was saying when Esme interrupted me. "Nonsense, we have room anyways!" She said. "And it would just be easier for you to say that we are some relatives of yours and that you are living with us." Carlisle said. "Please Daphne!!" Alice said. "Well then, umm let me just get my stuff." I said and Alice squealed. "Jasper could go help you!" she said. Jasper looked at me awkwardly before detangling our intertwined fingers.

I was driving the car as we sat in awkward silence. Should I say something? Or should I just shut up. Am I making things awkward.. no I am awkward. I should just keep my mouth shut. No I'll say something. Orrr... I chuckled hearing his thoughts. "Whats so funny?" He asked. "I read minds like Edward." I said and lauged. "Oh... So you heard everything I just thought?" He asked. "Yeah, pretty much." I said. "I'm such an idiot aren't I?"he asked. "No, I think you're cute." I said and chuckled. "Well, I think you're cute too." He said.

We came to my house and got out of the car. I unlocked the door and let Jasper in. As we were packing my stuff he said. "Umm, so since we're, ya know mates, ummm... God why is this so awkward, I'll just ask. I was wondering if you'd go out with me?" He asked. "I would be delighted to." He smiled at me. "You know, when I was still Lady Daphne, dating was very different." I said. "How so?" He asked. "Well, the guy would first ask the girl's parents for permission to court her before he would court her five times. Basically take her on five dates that would be horse riding, long walks, concerts, balls, picnics etc. Then he would meet her with his parents so they can see if she's the proper woman for their son. If they approve he is to ask her parents the permission to marry her. So basically get engaged and then the wedding is in like, a month, and it's a whole celebration of love, with doves and stuff." I said. "Woow, it was a whole damn process!" He said then chuckled. "It was the only way for a guy to get a girl without an arranged marriage." I said. After we were done packing we settled the house for sale and went to the Cullen's place. "Well, looks like the two lovebirds finally got back to the nest!" Emmet said. I swear if I could blush right now I would.

Jasper then led me into my room. It had a bed in it. "Alice said she saw that you would like a bed in your room." He said. "Yea, I like just laying under the covers sometimes." I said. "Well, then I'll leave you to get settled." He said and walked out of the room.
