Juliet
"Come on come with us!" Ev begged as we sat at the lunch table the next day.
"I don't even know what you're talking about." I said as I took a bite of my pizza. It was heavan. Thick juicy dough covered with pepperoni and sweet, sweet cheese. It was beautiful actually.
"Come on we explained this to you before." Vee said as Alex slung his arm over her shoulders.
"It's an underground club me and my friends found last year. Totaly legal." Alex mumbled, staring at Vee.
The way he was staring at her was creepy to me, but they were a weird couple.
"Nothing about it sounds legal." I said glaring at him from across the table.
"It'll be fun." Ev tried again.
I sighed heavily and took another bite of my pizza.
"Should I remind you what happened last time you convinced me to go somewhere?" I asked Ev with a mouth full of food.
"Yes but that was different." He said lifting up a finger pointedly.
"Come on JayJay. Live a little." Vee said smirking at me from across the table as she leaned into Alex.
I groaned loudly and shook my head.
"You guys aren't gonna stop until I say yes. Are you?" I asked.
Ev pulled me in roughly for a hug and squealed excitedly. He jumped up and down in his seat and beamed at Vee and Ev.
"This is going to be epic!" he yelled, causing a couple of people on the tables around us to look at us with raised eyebrows.
"Calm the fuck down cinderella. We have company." Vee said, looking past me and narrowing her eyes.
Ev and I turned around to see who she was talking about. And sure enough, Noah was walking over to us.
He had a look of dittermination on his face and he was looking right at me. At least today, his posse wasn't with him.
He looked extremely attractive eith his tight black jeans, white t-shirt and army boots. And the way he was looking at me made my heart flutter with excitement.
"Juliet." He greeted when he reached our table, staring straight into my brown eyes.
"Noah." I greeted back softly.
"Can I talk to you for a minute?" He asked.
I sighed and looked away from him. Everytime we tried to hold a conversation, it ended with him insulting me and blaming me for the death of my brother.
And I wasn't sure if I was in the mood or not. Because fighting with Noah was mentaly draining to me. And I was sure he had to feel the same way.
"Fine." I mumbled.
I stood up from the table and followed Noah outside to the football field. There wasn't a lot of people outside. Most of the student were inside the cafeteria eating their lunch.
I wanted to get this over with though because my pizza was waiting for me. And the longer it waits, the colder it gets.
"So what did you want to talk about?" I asked softly.
"I wanted to apologise." he said stifly.
My eyes nearly popped out from my head as I stared at him in shock. Was I hearing correctly? Was he apologising? This is really unlike him. He's deffinately up to something.
"For...?"
"For being a dick last night. I geuss I just got upset when I saw J-." He froze for a mere second before he continued. "When I saw his room."
I sighed softly and smiled at him.
"I understand. I'm sorry too." I said looking into his eyes.
He looked taken back, but he recovered quickly and gave me a small smile in return.
"I want to take you somewhere this afternoon." He said.
I raised an eyebrow.
"Really? On a Wednesday?" I asked.
He shrugged and smirked.
"What? Bambi can't go out on a school night?" He teased. I laughed and shook my head.
"Sure. Where should I meet you?" I asked.
"No. We're going right after school. So we can just drive from here." He said.
He saw the look of panic I had on my face as he mentioned the word drive. "Or walk. We can walk. It isn't far. And I'll just come fetch my car later." He said.
"So where are we going?" I asked.
"It's a surprise. I want to make uo for my shitty behaviour. So you'll just have to wait and see." He said.
His demeanor was slightly off. He didn't look happy, but he didn't look angry or sad either. He was completely stoik. And it scared me a little.
"Okay. I'll see you after school then?" I asked.
He looked past me and his eyes hardened. "Yeah. See you." He mumbled and shoved past me.
I looked back at him in confusion and saw him basically sprint to Jason and Nicole. They spoke in hushed whisperes and Jason looked like he was about to walk over to me.
A smirk was plastered on his face, but Noah grabbed his arm and pulled him back, whispering something in his ear. Nicole didn't look happy at all though.
She was glaring at me with her arms folded over her chest menacingly.
I sighed and walked back into the cafeteria, deciding I rather not know what that was about.
"So what did he want to talk about?" Vee asked as she took a sip of her soda.
I shrugged and picked my pizza up again. But it didn't look as appetizing anymore.
I didn't know if I should be excited for this afternoon or not. Things could go wrong.. or it could go right.
I also didn't know how I felt about Noah. Or how I should feel about him. He was extremely confusing and I couldn't shake the feeling in my gut that something bad was going to happen.
