(CHAPTER 9) HEALING TOUCH😇💫

Eerie silence surrounded the cottage interrupting with random chirping of crickets.

As Dom reached inside, the girl was trying to carry her mother to bed but was failing miserably.

Looking her struggle, he came forward escorting Valentina swiftly on the bed.

Fluttering her eyes open, Valentina smiled at both of them, who were worried for her.
"Thanks for saving our lives Dom. If you wouldn't be here....."

She was cut off by his voice.
"Please, don't mention that, it was my duty."

"Will you do a favor, son?" she looked at him expectantly.

"Yes, anytime" he wanted to relieve all her burden.

"Please stay in our house this night.We need you, as Peter is also not in good condition.
Bell, go and make bed for him," she ordered the girl.

Turning back, he glanced at the girl, who was biting her luscious lips, angrily.

"The cut on her head is deep. Clean and bandage it immediately or it will turn worse,"
he ordered the girl in his husky voice.

Taking out the cotton and painkillers from the bedside table, the girl moved towards her mother.

Cleaning the wound ultimately, she was bandaging her head.

She felt his strong piercing gaze observing her all the time.

Focusing on the injury, she didn't even dare to look up.

Feeling her discomfort, he bid good night and exited from the room.

Pulling the duvet on her mother, she spoke in her velvety voice.

"Goodnight mom," she planted a soft kiss on her temple.

Collecting the first aid box, she turned off the lights.

Glancing towards his direction, she saw him lying on the sofa.

Looking at her, he spoke,
"You must be tired. I'll sleep on this, no need for the bed."
He said pointing on the sofa.

Her soft voice enticed him;
"I don't want to disappoint my mom. Please, she will get angry on me."
She talked to him looking at his chest.

She didn't wanted to drool at him, this seemed immodest to her.
"She is asleep, I will explain her, don't worry," he was adamant.

She wanted to debate upon it.

But, looking at the seriousness of the situation, she nodded her head and went away.

Opening her hair roughly, she sprang on the bed, murmuring on the way.

'How can mom trust him, he's a stranger.
She was telling me to stay away from him.
And now, he is sleeping in our house.
In one night, he became our savior. Huh'

Her mind was busy searching various excuses to hate him, but she couldn't.

The past incidents were enough to satisfy all her lame excuse.

With rage running in her veins, she didn't realized when she fell asleep.

Running her tongue on her dry lips, her throat felt sore.

It was midnight, the house was drop dead silent.

Earlier incidents, flashed in her mind erupting goose bumps in her body.

But gaining over some strength, she headed towards the kitchen.

Gulping down a glass of water, she hydrated her body.

On her way back, her mind struck to check up on Dom.

She advanced forward looking at his direction.

A drop of blood fell on the ground, adding to the already existing spot.

Dom's wide forehead was carved with blood. Some of it had turned dry and caked upon it.

She rushed with first aid box in her hands.

Taking out the cotton, she wiped the blood from his face.

Putting on the bandage, she huffed in satisfaction.

As, she stood up, a gush of cold air sent chills down her body.

And her eyes halted on the sleeping figure in front of her.

She brought a duvet and covered his shrinking form with it.

She smiled pleasantly at him, but her smile flew away in some seconds.

When she saw him changing his sides, her heartbeat intensified.

Her forehead got creased with worry lines, she didn't wanted to get caught.

With swift steps she ran towards her room.

Breathing heavily, she sighed as she reached inside.

Sliding on the bed slowly, she sprawled herself on it.

Trying to soothe her heart, she closed her eyes.

And heavy drooping orbs dozed off to deep slumber.

With gentle fingers; I move,

my hand towards the panicked crew.

Softness and care is must,

Only pure souls have a healing touch.
