(CHAPTER 28) RUN THE RISK OF !! 🏃‍♂️

The undergoing chaos increased among the people. Everyone was running here and there, from men to women and even children. All of them were busy trying to do as much work as possible. Most of the officers dressed in black were checking on the public, that they were fulfilling there work or not. And the people were contributing their whole savings for the planet. 

When the soldiers went on war and if the fight was going to end up soon; the soldiers carried only arms with them. But if the fight would take days, so; according to the custom; some selected beautiful girls would accompany them. As, sex could keep them relieved and they cannot search girls out in new place. The King also laid more focus on this, as it was a basic need that should be catered off.

 Witnessing the preparation, Dom recalled his conversation with people who had told him that there are consecutive wars going on. He was concerned about the deteriorating economy, wars need money. And administrators of Noir collected money from people and spent it extravagantly upon their desires. While the public lived miserably cutting off their basic needs.

That's why Dom never appreciated war, these are torment on poor and lavish of rich. Huffing at the present situation, he walked towards the Palace. As he paced to the Military hall, he saw Derek with the officials discussing seriously into some matter. Hearing his footsteps, he stopped for a second and strode at his direction. Shaking his hand with him, he stated. "You could be surprised by seeing the changes going around in the planet. Actually, I wanted to discuss it with you."

Listening attentively, Dom gestured him to carry on. Taking it as a cue, Derek continued. "We are going to attack on a planet as they are not following our peace treaty. If we tolerate them for long, it's possible that they will attack us. I believe in attack rather than defense. And now, our people are also financially capable, if there would be an unexpected attack; economy would shatter. The natives of that bloody planet are immensely huge and mighty. I'm training my selected soldiers rigorously. But then too, I need gallant and wise men like you. If you want to serve our planet, it's the best opportunity. Do you want to join us? I would be highly grateful if you accept my offer." His face held neutral emotions with a cunning smile.

Dom introspected for a while, 'he can never reject his planet, when it needs him badly. He had been raised here from the time he had opened his eyes and he wanted to close his eyes in this soil. It was his Mother, Father and more than a family. He was emotionally connected to this land, how can he leave it behind?' His mind screamed a big  fat 'yes'. 

With his dark eyes exhibiting confidence and dedication; he exclaimed. "I accept your offer, Derek." His words startled him at once, he thought Dom was afraid of death. And he would reject his offer due to his ego. If he were in his situation, he would never ever had settled; with Dom, leading the army. Dom's decision puzzled him but he spoke his heart out, what if he not returned alive. Although, he was not ready to die.

He asked, "You have chosen death, Dom? What if you die, fighting? I'm impressed by your decision." Derek's voice held astonishment and looked expectantly at him for an answer.  

Dom affirmed, "We can never choose Death, it's appointed. Rather Death is the one who chooses us. People who run behind life and glamour never get the hang of it. Nobody knows when will our heart beat stop, or when will we breathe last. We cannot escape death but we can choose to look in its eye; confidently. If we focus on the present moment, regret never touches our life. One who doesn't fears from death is able to smoothly take more risk in life. And you know, I have an old connection with death." He smirked at Derek who was grasping his every single word; with mouth wide agape.
