Chapter 2: Party (part 1)

~Shae's Pov~

Surprisingly the week went by fast. Zayn and I grew closer, as friends but we never mentioned the almost kiss. Zach had nothing to do with me in the past couple of days and I was glad. People hardly see me as 'the mean girl' I once was and that's good. I took a stand for myself, something I haven't done in a really long time. Time flew by fast, Zayn and I would walk to our classes together if they were close by or if we had the same class, at lunch we sat together and we finally picked a song to sing next week, I couldn't wait.

I started to reconnect with some old friends of mine. Life was looking up to its expectations, when I talked with Liam he said that I sounded like my old self and that's fantastic, he said he missed the old me and wanted to thank the person who's helping me change back. It’s a slow process but still, it's progress.

I walked out of math class, heading to my locker. “Shae, wait up!” shouted a familiar voice. I turned and saw Alyssa Armstrong making her way over to me. Alyssa and I were friends when I first moved here when I was eleven. She helped me through rough times along with Liam and two other girls, Diana Meade and Chelsea Robertson.

“What’s the chiz?” I asked. She looked at me like I had some sort of disease then shook her head.

“Guess who I called and got to come to the party tomorrow,” she squealed.

I started to tap my chin, then pet my imaginary beard as I thought,” Taylor Swift, wait no! Kelley Clarkson, oh no no no! It’s definitely Miley Cyrus,” I said, faking excitement. Alyssa slapped my arm, very hard might I add. “Hey, what was that for!” I yelled

“I’m being serious here and your goofing off. I might as well tell you since you're not taking this seriously,” I looked at her, nodding my head in agreement,” I called up Chelsea and Diana and they're coming tomorrow!” my eyes widened. I didn’t mention earlier that Diana and Chelsea are cousins, they live together with Diana’s parents. They moved to Manchester United about three or four years ago, the last time I talked to them I was extremely rude and well, things didn’t end so well but I’m hoping to make amends Saturday if they’re even talking to me.

“That’s so great, I haven’t seen them in like forever,” I closed my locker and started walking with Alyssa by my side,” This party is going to be so much more interesting.” I continued walking as Alyssa talked but I was completely zoned out until someone bumped into my shoulder.

“Hey watch it!” I shouted as I watched the guy turn around. It was Zach. Oh why did it have to be him, out of all people, why? Calm down Shaniah everything will be alright, the last time you made his face red, this time take it to where the sun don’t shine.

Alright I’ll do that, wait did I just give myself pep talk.

Yes, yes you did.

Oh my God something is going wrong with me.

“Well what do we have here?” he said as he walked up to me, ”you look a little lost babe, you should come back, the others miss you,” Ugh he makes me sick but a small part of me wants to listen to him. What could make me want to do this? I’ve stayed away for almost a week and now This.

“I see your face is back to its normal colour,” I said to him, trying my best not to listen to him and walk away but he grabbed my wrist, pulling me back. Where the heck did Alyssa go? “Let go of me you idiot,” I said as I tried to pull my wrist away.
