Chapter 4: Never Tell Someone Calm Down
~Shae's Pov~
I woke up to the sound of a normal alarm for once. I sat up in my bed and rubbed my eyes, I looked at the clock and saw that it was 6:30. Why am I even up this early? Then I remembered that my mom wasn’t home, ugh. I get up and pull my hair into a messy bun. I walk over to Aidan’s room and opened the door.
“Aidan wake up,” I said as I shook him but he refused. Frustrated, I went and turned on the lights, then I went over to him, pulled the covers off, grabbed his ankles and pulled him off the bed and onto the floor. He let out a groan, a smile spread across my face. I went to my room and took a warm shower. I wrapped up in my towel and put on my usual makeup which consists of eyeliner and mascara. I pulled out a pair of grey skinny jeans, a white loose top, a black leather jacket and a pair of black boots. I grabbed my bag and went down stairs and made breakfast, grill cheese sandwiches.
“Aidan, breakfast!” I yelled. He came down and we ate in silence. “So I’m guessing I have to walk to school today,” he said. I looked at him funny, why would he say something like that?
“No you don‘t, plus it‘s cold out, why would you say something like that,” I said, looking at him.
“Oh, okay. You’re nicer now, you realize that right,” he said and I couldn’t help but smile at what he said.
“Yeah I know,” I replied. I put the wares in the sink and we went to the car. As I was pulling out the driveway, I remembered that I didn’t pick up my guitar. I stopped the car, got out while telling Aidan that I’ll be right back. I unlocked the front door, ran up to my room and picked up my guitar, I couldn’t believe that I nearly forgot it.
I dropped Aidan to school, pulled into the parking lot of my school, I checked the time to see that it was still early but people were here. I got out the car with my bag and guitar in tow. I sat down on the bonnet of the car, pulled out my ipod and put in my headphones. The first song that fills my ears is Taylor Swift’s Love Story. I loved that song. I put my guitar on my lap and started playing the cords to the song. Close to the ending of the song I felt a tap on my shoulder, I turned and saw Zayn, I smiled. I took out my headphones and put my ipod back in my bag for safe keeping.
“You ready for today?” he asked. My smile drops, I totally forgot about our so called live performance for the school and now my nerves from last night came back. Why did he have to remind me? And first thing in the morning too!
“No because I forgot about it this morning and now you reminded me so I’m extremely nervous. Thank you Zayn, thank you so much,” I said.
Don’t worry, you’ll be perfect today Shaniah. Plus he’ll be with you the whole time he just said so. Alright. The voice is right, it has been right the whole time and I think that it might always be right, well I hope. Of course I’m right and I will never be wrong. Don’t doubt me! Wow attitude much. Shut up, just shut up.
“Hey, don’t worry, I’ll be right next to you on stage you just have to calm down a bit,” he said. I look at him, doesn’t he know that telling people to calm down never helps.
“You never tell someone to calm down it doesn’t help at all,” I said.
“Alright, so we’ll have to do something to get your mind of this whole thing, so what do you wanna do?”
I was about to reply when a pair of hands covered my eyes. “Guess who,” someone says trying to make their voice sound different but it was a complete fail so I just laughed.
