August 2017
Rosalie tapped her foot in anticipation. It had been a month since she had last seen Harry and about forty eight hours since she had texted him telling him she wanted to talk.
They had arranged to meet at a bar near to where she worked so obviously it only took her about five minutes to get there and she was stuck waiting for him outside. In her bag she had the letter she had written and edited with her therapist, she felt kinda stupid bringing it with her. What was she going to do? A dramatic reading of why she had left him?
When she saw him cross the road towards her, her heart stopped in her chest. He was wearing loose light blue jeans and a white t shirt. It was simple but boy did he make it look like it came straight off a runway.
"Hey, sorry I'm late I couldn't find anywhere to park." His voice was nervous and his face was scanning hers as if he was trying to take in one final look and remember every detail.
"It's okay" she gave a light smile and turned to walk into the bar. He followed quietly.
When Harry had received the text, he was relieved but also terrified. Sarah kept him updated on how she was doing so he knew that Lola had moved in, she was seeing her therapist regularly and everything else in her life was going alright. It was just him that was causing a problem. What he would do to be a fly on the wall in one of her therapy sessions and just see what was going on in her head for once.
They both got a drink and decided to sit outside as it was nice outside. It took a while for either of them to look at each other, they mostly just watched the streets in front of them in awkward silence.
"So, um, what did you want to talk about?" He asked, needing the horrible silence to be over. She looked tired but he could tell she had recently gotten a haircut, it looked shinier and neater.
She stumbled over her words for a moment before deciding on "I wrote you a letter." Harry was slightly confused but then watched as she pulled out a piece of paper. She didn't hand it to him though.
"Can I read it?" He requested, dying to know how she was feeling and have some sort of clarity. She stared at the paper for a moment before handing it to him. It wasn't how she imagined him reading it, right in front of her, but it was too late now.
Dear Harry,
I'm sorry for the way that I left, it wasn't how I wanted things to go down but I got overwhelmed and took it out on you. That was wrong. Recently, I've just felt as if I am complete burden to you and no matter how many times you told me I wasn't I couldn't believe you. This is my problem, one I have to sort out by myself which is what I am doing in therapy.
I just want to let you know that you did nothing wrong, you were and are perfect and the perfect boyfriend. You gave yourself wholly to me and I'm sorry I couldn't do the same.
Rosalie
Harry folded the paper once he had read it and bit down on his jaw. The frustration building in him once again and he hadn't even been near her for five minutes.
"So that's it?" When he met her eyes, she saw that clearly the letter hadn't made things better. Maybe she should've said it out loud instead of letting him read it. "You're just telling me it's over?" He asked.
