Part 2: Sophie sleeps and cries ( why am I not surprised)

Sophie cried through the night. Sometime around midnight, Edaline came in holding a tray of mallowmelt. She offered the tray to her, but Sophie shook her head, not hungry. Edaline held her as Sophie's sobs slowly slowed down and she fell asleep.

Sophie woke up, her eyes feeling puffy, and rolled over to look at her clock. It was 5:30. PM. She screamed and jumped out of bed. Edaline and Grady came running in.

"Sophie, whats wrong?" Edaline panted, out of breath.

"It's 5:30 PM! Why did you let me sleep this late? How did I sleep this late?" Sophie demanded. Edaline breathed a sigh of relief, glad something bad hadn't happened. Grady's shoulders relaxed and he stood in a less protective position. Edaline looked at Sophie, sympathy written all over her face. She walked over to Sophie and pulled her into a hug.

"We thought that you probably needed some extra rest after...what happened." Edaline looked at her, preparing for her reaction. It all came rushing back to Sophie, the argument, how she was so angry, but after he left she felt so..hurt.  The pain and overwhelming sadness from the previous night came back and she crumpled into Edaline's arms. She tried desperately to hold in her sobs, not wanting to..care so much about Fitz after the way he had treated her. But she couldn't help it. It hurt so bad. Sniffling she pulled back and tried to smile, though it probably looked like a grimace.

"I...want some alone time, okay?" Edaline nodded, and Grady looked like he was going to object but Edaline pinched him and dragged him out. As soon as they were gone, Sophie found her Imparter and called the one person she knew would understand. Keefe picked up.

"Foster, are you sure..." He trailed off seeing her red-rimmed eyes and trembling lips.

"I'm coming to your house," she said and logged off.
