What led humanity to this is beyond all probability. In the past, humans fought amongst themselves for such trivial things like petrol, leading to countless casualties on all sides, when smarter solutions were just ahead of them. It would be great to say that this was all in the past, but the problems now were real and urgent. Problems which were solely caused by human stupidity. Even after attempts at reparation and with all the technology developed, hunger was still evident everywhere; and where there was hunger, there was fear.

Fear brought war, but it also brought alliances. Centuries ago, the Reborn Federation was created as an attempt of uniting the most powerful and prosperous territories in the world. This led to the rise of many powerful enemies, and the most recent law called for the recruitment of all citizens between 18 and 35 years of age to the soldiery - no exceptions. The protection of the RS and its Emperor was imperative, and all citizens should be willing to give their lives for such cause.

(Y/n) awed as she entered the building. Many people went their whole lives without seeing the inside of a Federation building, as entry was restricted to important personnel. With the recruitment order however, she would become a frequent visitor. Walking towards the automated register, she positioned herself for the face scan and looked towards the screen which made a light 'ping' as it recognized her. The information in section 'employment' instantly changed to 'recruit patroller'.

Recruit patroller. The girl tested out the words for herself. Doesn't exactly roll off the tongue. The weight of this responsibility didn't register in her brain as she was so elated by her new position. Being a part of the soldiery meant a new house, social benefits, higher pay and less time working. As instructed by the automated voice coming from the screen, (Y/n) directed herself towards the elevator with nothing but her backpack, ready for the start of the rest of her life.

The glass doors opened as the girl approached and closed behind her, the platform automatically ascending to the desired floor. Although it was a short wait, (Y/n) had the time to observe more of her surroundings. Each floor looked similar: a large hall with an electronic waiting desk and some chairs, along with white double doors leading to some unknown room. As the elevator reached a stop, it let out a dull 'ping'.

Although the doors were see-through, the girl couldn't help but jump as a woman seemingly appeared out of nowhere.

"Welcome recruit. State your name and assigned position."
