Chapter 26: Ice (Revised)

Claude insisted that I leave him alone to defeat Peridon. At first, I hesitated. But when I saw the dedication in his eyes, I thought that I should trust and believe in him. I pulled back my bow aimed at Peridon and continued to observe the battlefield.

My eyes landed on Angela's cruel fight against Shura. She doesn't hold back, does she? My eyes could see farther than a normal eye could. Even the slightest detail can't be missed. Hindi ko alam ang dahilan kung bakit may ganitong kakayahan ang mga mata mo. But what I know is, pinagkatiwalaan ako ng mga kaibigan ko na gamitin ang mga matang ito para ipanalo kami sa laban na 'toh.

I focused my senses back into the game and scattered my eyes around the city. Ashern had regrouped again and found their leader lying unconscious in an alley. My mind deep in thought to the point that I ignored the building energy behind me. I jumped out of my spot, feeling the growin energy beneath me. Briar rose sprouted out from the ground, blazing up like wildfire. I turned, swirling in the air to look for the person responsible for the attack.

Fleur jumped out from her position, revealing herself. According to Angela, the strength she showed in her matches weren't her full strength. It gave us the conclusion that she's stronger than what she looks like.

I pulled my bow, inching for an attack. She held her rapier in one hand and a shield on the other. I landed, inches away from the edge of the peak. One of my foot an inch from the edge and could fall off anytime. The deep fall that could me instant death. No one could save you from falling unless you have something up your sleeve.

Our battle won't last long if we both fight it up here. Baka magiba lamang ang lugar na kinaaapakan namin at pareho kaming mahulog sa kamatayan namin. And I'm not risking a possible death scenario. Not today.

Fleur ordered her magic and the briar rose charged me. Gumilid ako at iniwasan ito. A thorn grazed me at the shoulder and it turned into ice. There is nothing to be scared, I won't die yet.

I heaved a sigh, letting the wind flash and slash through my skin. Let's just continue this terrible plot I started. "Summoning: Come! Ice the Fenrir."
