Chapter 11: First Loss (Revised)

The game ended with Clove having the first loss. Mai slumped down on the cold ground, unconscious after taking such a powerful hit in her back. Jayton, the one from Ashern took the chance to knock her out instead of going to his own door. Dahil du'n, the game ended with him taking 3rd place.

I clenched my fist into a ball, nearly bleeding from the grip of it. The game was rigged, the only way to win is by exiting in the right door and yet they let Ashern win because his the only one standing. Isn't that unfair?! I bit my lower lips because of frustration and as soon as the game ended both me and Angela rushed down to get Mai and bring her to Hya to be healed.

Wala na kaming pakialam kung nakikita kami ng napakaraming tao, they hurt my friend because for fun, they won't get away with it. Smirks awaited us as soon as we took Mai out of the arena, smirks of our opponents, maliban na lang sa Fortis which for some reason irritated me more.

I glared at them, my eyes turning black from the growing rage inside of me. Pinigilan ako ni Angela sa anumang balak kong gawin sa mga pagkakataong iyon. Nang titigan ko ang mata niya doon ko nakita ang madilim nitong paningin. She's maintaining her temper. Sumunod na lang ako aat mabilis na dinala si Mai sa clinic kung nasaan si Hya.

Worry flash through my mind after seeing the state Mai was in. It was worse than I imagined it. Her hands and feet were burned, her flesh nearly flopping out of her body. Her back shredded from the burns and hits it took. He literally tortured her. I growled, cussing under my breath until we arrive sa clinic.

Tumambad sa amin roon ang dalawa pa naming mga kasama pati na rin ang ilan sa mga kaklase namin. We took her inside and when Hya saw Mai's body, she flinched and snapped. She motioned to us to bring her in the corner where she was and we did as we were told. Pumasok na rin si Sheena upang tumulong na gamutin si Mai.

Not only did we not gain any points in the game, we can last which is a loss and a friend is now in grave danger because of the injuries she took. The people also started bashing us because of the performance we gave. I gritted my teeth forcing my frustrations to keep in.

We left the room to let them focus and waited on the hallway where everyone is.

"Is Mai going to be okay?" Anne cried.

"Those bastards, I swear I'll kill them if I ever see them!" Alfred barked. His fists clenched into a ball, nearly bleeding the same as mine. His eyes flashing purple from the aura leaking from his body. Bakas sa mga mukha nila ang pag-aalala at galit sa gumawa nito sa kaniya. The tournament is indeed as cruel and unfair. Vicious and torturous.

"Too bad, she didn't win. She was so close." Shira murmured in her mind.

"That damn Ashern!" I snapped in my mind.

Hinayaan na lang ako ni Shira at hindi na nanghimasok muli sa isip ko. She let me be and let my anger rage inside my mind until it calms down. Pero tama si Shira, the door was inches away from her. And yet she was stopped from her tracks by that Ashern guy who is so agitated because of Mai. Bloodthirsty for a fight, that's what most Ashernians are known for. And he's not an exception of that.

Muli akong pumasok sa loob para tingnan ang lagay ni Mai nang sumunod din sa akin sa loob si Storm. "You followed?"

"Gustong makita kung magiging ligtas ang buhay ni Mai." Sagot niya.

"She's strong I'm sure she'll be fine."

"I want to see it with my own eyes. Kagaya mo, nag-aalala rin ako sa kaniya."

I snapped back to reality and glanced at him. His face looked serious and concerned and his eyes are attached directly at Hya and Sheena's direction. Since kailan pa siya naging concern kay Mai? It isn't like him to worry over this kinds of things.
