After their moment of silence, the two traveled back to the cabin. Bruce decided to tell Pepper about Natasha now, it was for the best. He entered the cabin followed by Natasha who held Morgan. Pepper was still looking for Morgan and stumbled across the two, "Bruce, you found her! Thank go-" she nearly screams when she saw Natasha, "Natasha?! Didn't she die?!" Pepper shouts.
"Look, I can explain. Let me explain." Bruce looks at Pepper as he shut the door. Pepper looked at Natasha as if she was a ghosts.
"Bruce, how in the world did this happen?! Is this why you weren't here when I came home?" Pepper couldn't believe her eyes at all.
"Yes. I was with Natasha. But me and Happy were taking turns watching Morgan throughout the week." Bruce worried a little about Pepper reaction, but he spoke the truth and hope it would work in his favor.
Pepper looks at Natasha then Bruce, then Morgan. "Get out." She tells the two. "I can't deal with any of this okay!" She raises her voice.
Natasha glares a bit at Pepper, setting Morgan down, "whatever." She mutters before going to leave.
"Natasha Wait." Bruce takes her hand and stops her from leaving. "Pepper, I'm really sorry that this all happened. I didn't intend for all of this to happen. Please don't be upset..."
Pepper grumbles and takes Morgan and holds her daughter close, "whatever this is, I don't want it near my daughter. I already lost my husband, I'm not losing her too. So whatever this is, I do not want to be apart of it."
Bruce looks at Pepper with pleading eyes, "Pepper please, I promise nothing bad will happen to you guys, we'll make sure of it."
Pepper just shakes her head, "please go. Pack your stuff and go." She raises her voice again, she had no clue what was going on but she hated it. It reminded her of when Tony was careless and reckless which caused them to get into a lot of trouble as a couple. They finally had a safe spot and Pepper wasn't willing to give it up yet, Morgan needed a childhood that didn't involve chaos. Natasha on the other hand, didn't want to fight Pepper. She just looked at Bruce before going to leave the cabin.
"Natasha's pregnant!" Bruce blurts out after seeing Morgan's eyes sadden as Natasha stepped out. Natasha hears this and her eyes widen, why would he lie like that? She looked back at him then over at Morgan, she finally understood why. "She needs a calm area to heal during this, I thought this would be the best for her." Which was partly true, Natasha didn't need the stress while she was healing and trying to figure out how the hell she's even here.
Pepper's eyes widen as well, "Really?! But, but how? How long have you've even been alive? Gosh that sounded weird..." She looks at Natasha, studying her to see if what Bruce said was true.
Natasha thought for a bit, she was a talented liar but was this one really worth it. "I... About one week." She shrugs, "it was a little surprise I guess." She looks at Bruce then takes his hand. "I still have to recover from my injuries so it'll be a little hard"
Pepper eventually fell for their trick, taking the bait. "I... I guess it wouldn't be right to kick you out. It really is nice here, you deserve a calm area like this during your pregnancy. I enjoyed it when I had Morgan."
Natasha nods, "Thank you. But I don't have to stay here if it's going to bother you." She looks at Bruce, meaning what she said. "We could always visit you guys when I need a breather." She looks back at Pepper who was thinking about this, weighing the pros and cons of the two being here. Morgan could be put in danger, but Pepper would be selfish to not let Natasha stay here.
Pepper shakes her head, coming to a decision. "No you can stay, it's fine. You won't be a bother, Bruce didn't bother me at all while he stayed." Morgan smiles brightly at this.
"Auntie Nat can stay!!" she cheers and tries to get out of Pepper's arms. Pepper gently set her down, "I need a drink..." she mutters as she walks off to the kitchen. Morgan quickly runs to Natasha and hugs her. "We can play games, watch movies and go outside!" She looks up at Natasha with a pure expression of excitement.
Natasha smiles softly at her as she picks her up, "that sounds like so much fun. I would love to do that with you."
Morgan squeals happily, "I can't wait! Can we dance too? Uncle Bruce told me a story about how you like to dance just like me."
Natasha looks at Morgan in shock then over at Bruce, "what do you mean a story?"
Bruce smiled a little, "I've seen you dancing a few times in the training room, I guess you thought you were alone. I couldn't help but watch you for a few minutes, you really are talented. You should put it to use."
Natasha just shakes her head and looks at Morgan, "and apparently pregnant."
Bruce shrugs with a small grin, "you need a quiet place to heal, this cabin is perfect Natasha. We won't stay for long though, I'll find us a place or we could go back to the HQ if you prefer that." he explains.
Natasha decided to leave it at that for now, "we'll talk later." She kisses Morgan's cheek, "for now, I think some playtime is in order. Let's go outside, it's a beautiful day."
Morgan smiles, "I have toys outside! Or we can run around! I like to break the leaves as I run."
"Oh really?" Natasha smiles as she carries her out of the cabin. Morgan nods as she looks around to she where she left her toys. Bruce quietly follows the two out. Natasha set Morgan down so she can run off to her collection of toys. Bruce takes Natasha's hand before following Morgan over to play. The three happily played together with Morgan's toys. Morgan was more than happy to finally have a new play friend, especially one always loved hearing about in Bruce's stories. They played outside for a few hours, Bruce made sure it wasn't too rough however, he didn't want Natasha to get hurt even more than she already was. Soon the sun started to set over the three. Causing Morgan to get a little scared, she didn't like the dark that was soon to come.
"No more playing." She whimpered as she dropped her toys, moving to hug Natasha. Natasha gently hugged her back.
"It's okay, you don't have to be scared. There's nothing to hurt you. I promise you." Natasha gently rubbed her back as she moved to stand up. Bruce helped her up.
"Pepper would want her inside anyways, she'll need to get ready for bed." He kisses Natasha's cheek.
Natasha nods as they walks towards the cabin. She heard something in the distance that caused her to stop, it sounded like the snapping of a stick and rustling of leaves. She looks Bruce and motions for them to stay quiet. Bruce looked around, hoping it wasn't a danger. He prayed that it was just an animal. Natasha continued to look around. She eventually spotted a figure in the distance, she clutched onto Morgan and protected her. Natasha didn't notice her body starting to glow the same gold color from before, but Morgan did. "Wow." She gasps. Natasha finally notices and looks back at the figure, wondering if she could do something. The figure got closer to them, finally more visible to them. Turns out, they were glowing too. Morgan looked at them, finally recognizing who it was and squealing, "DADDY!!"
