The birth of a child is the biggest moment in any parent's life, but what follows may just be complete hell... Little Elizabeth was only two weeks old and she was already causing some trouble. She hated being in an incubator along with having tubes connected to her arms. She also hated having to wear diapers, even the smallest size was too big for her and she did not like it. She also hated not being able to see her mother or father. Right now that was not the problem however. Natasha gently cradles her daughter in an attempt to soothe her newborn. Elizabeth continues to cry, feeling very cold and tired of having those tubes in her arms. Natasha would do anything to get her daughter out of her, but the nurses refused. Right now Elizabeth barely made it to three ounces, meaning that she did not have enough fat in her body to contain any body heat. Elizabeth also had a problem with her wrist, which was currently wrapped in hopes that the bones will be able to grow back into place.
"Shh." Natasha tells her beautiful daughter as she cradled her. Natasha tried every idea that came to mind, if her daughter wanted to cry then the little thing was going to cry. Natasha checked her diaper carefully, it was just changed by a nurse so it was clean. Natasha then checked to see if her daughter was hungry. Natasha really did her research before having her baby girl. She wanted to be prepared for what was ahead. With the knowledge she had gather over the past few months she examen her daughter for any signs of hunger, distress or fatigue. Natasha clearly picked up on stress coming from her daughter. That was a given, Natasha herself hated wires and tubes being attached all around her own body. With how little Elizabeth was, it must feel like hell."I'm so sorry красивый (beautiful). I really am." Natasha whispers to the small infant. Natasha looks around the room to see if any nurses were there or even her newly wedded husband. Luckily, Bruce was busy investigating the medical equipment in the room, making sure it was all safe for the baby. So he was totally unaware of what she was doing. The nurses haven't stopped by for a while so of course they weren't in the room, but Natasha knew that she would need to be careful. Natasha looked back at her daughter quietly before deciding to go on with removing a few wires from her arms. "Shh." She tells her daughter, giving her a little break.
Elizabeth whimpers a little as her mother pulls the wires out. Once they were gone, the quivering lip was placed by a wide smile. Natasha laughs a little as the adorable little girl, "oh look at that smile you have." Natasha coos to the newborn. Elizabeth giggles, showing her gums as she widen her smile. "Aww, look at that." Natasha smiles as she moves to pick her up, she covers her with a blanket so she stayed nice and warm. Elizabeth looks around the room curiously. She sees Bruce and smiles once again, knowing who that was. Natasha turned so Elizabeth could see him better.
Bruce looks over, "Hey, be careful with her." He walks over.
Natasha rolls her eyes, "she's fine. She wanted to get out of that dumb thing."
Bruce analyzes the two before letting out a smile of his own, "she looks just like you Natasha." He chuckles, "but of course with less teeth."
"Hey, she'll get them soon." Natasha huffs with a small grin, "then she'll be able to bite you too."
"We're not teaching her to bite." Bruce shakes his head.
"Oh come on! What if she's in danger?!" Natasha grumbles
"She won't, are you kidding? She's going to have a whole team of superheroes behind her back. Maybe even those Guardian people. She's going to have an army Natasha, trust me. Nobody will pick on her." Bruce explains to his wife.
Natasha just rolls her eyes, "Bruce, what if nobody is there. I'm teaching her how to fight, I don't care."
Bruce just looks at her as he shakes his head, "you're not pressuring her. Look, if she ask you to teach her then that's fine with me. However, if she doesn't show any interest you back off. Don't force her to be what she doesn't."
Elizabeth giggles a bit as she listens to her parents bicker on and on, she seemed to enjoy hearing them talk. Natasha grins, "she's lashing at your lies. Or course she'll want to learn how to properly punch a boy. She's going to have my beauty after all, who knows how men will be like in 16 years."
"16 years? She's not dating until 16?" Bruce questions, "I say 21. If you're old enough to drink then you're old enough to date." Bruce grins.
"Oh come on, give her some time." Natasha rolls her eyes with a small grin. Soon their little chat was interrupted by the nurse walking into the room and going over to Natasha.
"Hey, so we have a few things to talk about with you and your husband." The nurse starts off.
Both Natasha and Bruce pale as they listen to the nurse. "About what? What's wrong?" Bruce starter to panic, gearing up for the worse. Was Elizabeth sick? Dying?
"It's about his wrist." The nurse replies, "I came to check on it, some x-rays were ordered by her doctor. She just wants to make sure Elizabeth'a wrist would heal the correct way. A broken worst is very dangerous for a newborn. Especially with how premature she is." The nurse finally notices the wires, "ma'am! What did you do?!" She quickly takes the baby and goes to place her back in the incubator with all of the wires put back into her skin. Elizabeth started to cry right away, absolutely hating what the nurse was doing to her.
"She needed a break." Natasha grumbles, "she's okay, I made sure she was before taking her out." She explains, getting a little irritated. This was Natasha's daughter! Not the nurses. Natasha knew what was best for her child, she felt her daughter's distress.
The nurse just shakes her head, "that's not for you to manage. She's fine, she needs these in order to survive. Speaking of which, it's time for her x-rays." He goes to wheel the incubator out.
Natasha went to stop her but Bruce held her arm, "Nat. I know. I know it sucks but it's for the best. Elizabeth needs this care, she needs it Natasha. These people know what they're doing, so let them do it."
Natasha huffs, "but... they're hurting her." She looks at Bruce, tearing up a little, "she hates it here. I know she does."
"She needs this help, it's for the best. I promise you." Bruce replies, "after all of this she will get to go home and live a happy life with us. I'll make sure of it." He moves to hug his wife.
Natasha moves to gently hold him back, "I really hope she's okay..."
"She will be." He mumbles as he hugs her close, rubbing gentle circles on her back. "She is our daughter after all, our strong and beautiful daughter."
Natasha looks at him, just letting it go for now. Natasha wanted to believe him. She wanted to believe her daughter would make it out of this place. Natasha wanted to see her grow up, to learn to talk, walk and to love. She wanted to all of her heart to that little girl. She wanted her daughter to see the outside world for the first time and to feel the warm sun on her soft baby skin.
