Saturday and Serqet had set a fast pace, despite the fact that they had fought off seven dragons. Arson had no trouble keeping up with them even though he was in a bad state as well.
All three of them had cuts and were bleeding, and Ghost had literally been thrown, but Arson was glad that they were hasty.
The flight anyway was surprisingly quick.
They had flown over grass fields for a moment before Saturday and Serqet led them to a cave system. The jagged holes in the rock side seemed like gaping maws in the earth.
Anyone could easily get lost in there.
Arson managed to keep sight of them once they dove into one of the entrances, the darkness swallowing around them.
As they maneuvered around the many rocky structures that protruded from the grounds, ceilings, and even sides, Arson held Ghost close, pressed against his chest with his arm.
Eventually, the two in front of him slowed down and landed in front of a large entryway to what appeared to be a large den.
"Apollo, it's us!" Saturday announced, his voice bouncing off the cave's walls for a moment. "Open up!"
The entrance of the cave flashed green, and a young dragon of blue, black, and white scales appeared seemingly out of thin air, holding a half empty coal of a glowing liquid in his paw.
"I see the cloaking spell works," Serqet chuckled as she flicked her tail. "Didn't think it would since we haven't gone outside in a while."
The dragon standing inside the cave grinned. "But you guys left anyway."
"It's a good thing we did," Saturday added, stepping to the side a little and gesturing to Arson and Ghost with his tail.
Arson studied the teen dragon a bit more since he had a more clear view of him, and when they locked gazes, Apollo tensed.
"Who is..." Apollo started, but his voice died away when his gaze fell onto Ghost, who was still underneath Arson. She was watching Apollo with wide but curious eyes.
Apollo's jaws dropped.
Saturday seemed to hold back a snicker and headed inside, pushing past Apollo.
"Come, Apollo," he beckoned. "Questions later."
Apollo didn't move instantly, but Serqet passed by him too, flicking her tail tip at his snout.
He flinched and blinked, then hastily followed them to let Arson and Ghost in.
Ghost looked up at her father when he didn't move immediately.
"Papa?" she whispered questioningly.
Arson looked down at her. He analyzed her tired, bruised up state with worried eyes, then sighed.
With that, he decided to trust these strangers that had rescued them - for now.
"Let's go, darlin'," he hummed, and he finally walked inside, Ghost still trailing underneath him.
Now that they were inside the cave, they saw that it was quite spacious.
Several shelves full of potions lined one side of the cave, and two beds made of moss and leaf bedding were on the other.
Situated in the middle of the cave was a boiling cauldron. Saturday and Serqet sat on side of the cauldron while Apollo was on the other.
Serqet seemed to be applying some sort weird, glowing moss onto Saturday's cuts while Apollo was sorting out what seemed to be ingredients.
