Chapter 8

"Stop looking!" I shouted in the midst of my shame. I am totally embarrassed. What am I supposed to react? This is super awkward, and humiliating to the depths, as well. Then, John offered his jacket. "Take this. It is too cold here." he said while stuttering and trying so hard to make the situation calm as possible. John's face was on the shade of deep red at bakas na bakas ang pagkataranta sa mukha niya. "Thank you." Dali dali kong sinuot ang jacket. Buti na lang medyo matangkad si John, kaya mahaba ang manggas at laylayan nito. It is enough to cover me. He smiled awkwardly. Then, he helped me to stand. I was about to walk when John gave me something. "Sayo yata ito." he is giving me a color white box na nanggaling sa hinigaan ko.

I immediately took the box. Again, the box looks exactly the same as what Luna gave me yesterday. My heart is raging. Box na naman? Pinaglalaruan ba ako ni Luna? Should I open it or not? For whatever's sake, I opened the box. I am hoping na sana hindi ko makita ang insignia na nagpasakit sa akin kagabi. In my shock, I saw a silver bracelet adorned with stars. There are encryptions written in the bracelet which in fact, hindi ko nanaman maintindihan. The stars adorned in the bracelet were similar to the what was engraved in the insignia. I swiftly put the bracelet back on the box and decided to go home.

"I have to go." I declared. Kahit andaming tanong sa utak ko, I decided to dash and exit the scene immediately. Ayoko ng mas mapahiya pang lalo. "Wait. Let me walk you home." John said in a serious concern tone. We started walking home. Walang nagsasalita sa aming dalawa. Ramdam mo yung awkwardness pero at the same time, I felt our desire to throw questions to each other. John broke the silence. " How come you ended in my ancestral house?" he asked shyly. What on earth! Tesoro's house is his ancestral home? Hindi ko na maintindihan ang series of events na dumadating sa akin. It is all too much. I never knew he was part of the Tesoro clan. This is definitely intriguing.

"You are a Tesoro?" I asked. He nodded as a response. "My mom was the sole heir of their clan." John replied. I never knew that the Tesoro's had a daughter. I only met his grandparents whom helped me to move on from my misery. Hindi ko pa rin gets why this things are now unfolding in front of me. Ang daming nagaganap beyond my own grasp. Did the universe decided to throw a play on me? Well, if they do, I am not amused, but rather, I am so confused. "Saan ka galing kagabi?, and what on earth do you do in my house?" John finally questioned what he was meant to ask me the whole time. Do I have to tell him what just happened? I guess, I should make an alibi. He paused on walking and look my eyes intently. "What are you doing?" I asked. Medyo kinabahan ako ng konti when he focused my face into his. Ang lapit ng mukha niya sa mukha ko.

His eyes were examining whatever is on my face. Hindi ko alam kung anong hinahanap niya. He moved my face from left to right, trying to find something. Hindi ko alam kung anong gusto niyang malaman at makita. Then, he gaze upon my eyes directly. Hindi ko alam kung anong force ang meron sa mga mata niya but his hazelnut eyes drowned me into the depths. I saw clearly his features. I have never been this close to John. I cannot deny the fact, that he is divinely blessed in appearance but I never knew it is up to this extent where I thought he is someone like a divine deity. Perfectly arched brows framed his proportionally made face. His strong, prominent and chiseled jaw line beautifully defined his figure. And a high nose bridge, made his face comparable to one of France's marble statues. I do not found any imperfections on his face. Can a human be like this blessed?

"What are you looking at?" John said with a grin. His little smile wake me up from my day dream. Here we go again. John's annoying and arrogant attitude started to consume him. Suddenly, he quickly turn my day dream into nightmare. I pushed him harshly and he almost fell to the ground. What strength do I have? John is definitely stronger than me. What just happened? Kailangan ko ng makaalis as soon as possible. Everything is being shameful than ever. "Nothing. Huwag kang masyadong conceited and vain. You look at me first, remember? Ano bang hinahanap mo? Para kang guard kung makaexamine sa mukha ko?" I asked with an annoyed tone and started walking swiftly.

"Saglit lang!" John stopped me from walking. "I knew it. You finally shape shift." he said with a victorious mood as if he suddenly became a champion. What? Paano niya nalamang nagshape shift ako? I thought it was a dream. Akala ko nagsleep walk lang ako. "I know that look. You probably shape shift. I am one hundred percent sure na naging lobo ka na." he said while bursting into triumphant laughs. Pano niya nalaman? At bakit tuwang tuwa siya? Is this a prank? "Stop talking nonsense!" I shouted. "Vera, seriously, I am rejoicing with you. Naawaken na sa wakas ang power mo." he added.

John made me even so confused. I wanted a break from all of this. Lumuluwag na ang turnilyo ng utak ko. Soon enough, I will be insane. Guaranteed way to insanity ang mga nagaganap sa harapan ko lately. "C'mon, let me show you something." John said while inviting me to an open lot.
