Am I even doing the right thing?

Hindi ko na rin alam. Kahit ako ay naguguluhan. I don't know what made me say that to him! If I badly wanted him out of my life forever, I didn't have to make that stupid deal! Dapat ay iniwasan ko nalang siya hanggang mamatay ako.

But there was something to his soft tone that I couldn't resist. I couldn't help but answer him. Sa huli ay ako lang rin ang kumain ng mga sinabi ko at kinausap ko pa rin siya. I think the huge smile on his face was worth completely avoiding what I'd told myself, but I'm still afraid of what might happen in the future.

I almost jumped from my seat when my phone beeped. Agad ko iyon kinuha sa kama ko at tiningnan. Ni hindi ko magawa ang mga kailangan at kanina ko pa pinag-iisipan ang mga sinabi ko sa kaniya kanina.

"Great! I'll make you fall for me sooo hard." He chuckled and later gave such a huge smile.

"We'll see about that." I raised my brow at him, testing him. Aaminin ko na nakaka-miss iyong ugali niyang gano'n.

"Bago lang ako sa mga ganito pero aba, nagbabasa ata 'to ng romance!" Pagmamayabang niya pa. He immediately lightened the mood up around us. I feel a little awkward, but I'll just go with the flow.

"So, am I like, courting you right now?" Naguguluhang tanong niya at ngumuso. "Gano'n?"

I shrugged. "If you wanna win my heart so badly, do your courting properly, Mr. Cervantes." I teased as I got up and fixed my things.

Tumayo rin siya at sumaludo. "Yes, boss."

That was the last thing I heard from him earlier. Umuwi na ako agad pagkatapos ng huli kong klase at nahihiya ako sa ginawa kong akto.

When I checked the notification from my phone, it was a message from him.

Kiel:

study date tom @ treehouse after skul

desisyon ako AHSHAHAH

umuwi ka na agad kanina e

i'll bring u food and lots of coffee

that's our love language <33

joke corny ko pala sige see u bukas

I silently laughed. He knows I'm a sucker for coffee.

Kiarah:

okay see u

I turned my phone off after to continue my studies.

"Kiarah, we're here!" Agad na nanlaki ang mata ko nang marinig ang boses ni mama sa baba. Were they supposed to come home?

Sumiklab kaagad ang kaba sa dibdib ko. Dad. He hasn't been around since then. Hindi pa kami nag-uusap tungkol doon but I'm positive he was there with my uncles! I saw him with my own eyes, he even called my name but I ran away only to return the next day and he wasn't home.

I immediately fixed myself and gave myself a pep talk.

Wala kang ginawang masama, Kiarah. It's okay. You shouldn't be afraid.

Pinaglaruan ko ang buhok ko sa kaba at dahang-dahang bumaba. Naabutan ko sila sa kusina kasama si Manang Susan at pinapakain na rin nila si Hailey. They still wore their formal work attire, but I wasn't informed that they'd be home.

My eyes were practically glued to my mom who sweetly smiled as she placed food on my plate. Iniiwas ko ang tingin kay Papa. Nasa kabisera siya at tahimik na kumakain. He didn't reek of alcohol today. Maybe they were busy with work.
