"What would be the perfect outfit for a picnic date?" Tanong ko kay Tal sa video call habang kanina pa naghahanap sa cabinet kung anong magandang damit.
"Floral dress, duh!" agad niya namang sagot. "Maganda ang floral dress, fresh tingnan."
I nodded and pointed the camera to my already messy closet. "This one?"
Kinuha ko ang purple maxi floral dress at pinakita sa kaniya. She surveyed the dress and gave off a nod, but I knew she wasn't that satisfied with it, judging on her look.
"Hmm, parang mahaba naman ata 'yan masyado? Or pwede rin naman para comfy ka," she shrugged. "Up to you, but the dress is pretty!"
"Tal," I pouted and sighed. "Kaya nga nagtatanong ako kasi kanina pa 'ko 'di makapili! You have to choose for me."
Tumawa siya sa kabilang linya. She's having fun watching me suffer what to wear on a picnic because it's my first time.
Sa huli ay iba nalang ang sinuot ko at masyado ngang mahaba iyon. I wore a blue sleeveless crop top and white pants instead. Komportable naman iyon suotin.
When I got to the park, I knew Kiel was already waiting for me. Madaming tao dito at summer, siguradong benta talaga ang mga park for picnic and playground outings.
Hindi ko alam kung bakit nang makita ko siya roong nakaupo sa may bench at may dalang malaking paper bag ay agad lumakas ang tibok ng puso ko. I know it's always been like this, pero hindi pa rin maiwasan na bumilis ang tibok ng puso ko kapag nakikita siya. It's like I'm falling for him all over again whenever I see him.
He welcomed me with a tight hug and a kiss on the forehead, and I immediately smelled his manly scent. He wore his favorite Hawaiian polo and shorts with his accessories. Malaking ngiti ang binigay niya sa akin.
Siya na ang nagpresinta na bumili ng lahat ng kakailanganin namin. He said he wanted to treat me using his first paycheck ever.
"Ganda mo talaga," he complimented. I pretended to flip my hair and chuckled.
"Maganda talaga ako, ngayon mo lang nalaman?" I confidently asked as he guided me to the grass where he laid the blanket.
"'Di, ah! Matagal ko na kayang alam!" balik niya. I laughed at his reaction and clung to his arm as he laid the different foods down.
Humagalpak siya sa tawa at hinila ako papunta sa hita niya na agad ko namang sinunod. He started caressing my hair and kept laughing.
"You're being clingy lately..." he stated.
Inayos ko ang upo at hinarap siya habang nakanguso. "Ayaw mo?"
Mabilis siyang umiling at giniya ulit ako pabalik sa hita niya. It's been days since we saw each other. Palagi kaming video call lang tuwing gabi kapag wala na kaming ginagawa. We've been busy with our own stuff, that's why.
"Syempre gustong-gusto." He laughed and went back to caressing my hair as I stared at the sky.
I appreciated that at this moment, there were two of us here as one. Sharing the same space and scenery.
"Picture!" Agad kong aya sa kaniya habang kumakain kami ng dala niyang cookies at sandwich.
"Take a pic of me," he insisted.
I raised my phone and took different pictures with different angles of him and the food, making sure to include the sky and angle my phone upwards to show how calming this is.
"Picturan naman kita," alok niya.
"Nakakahiya! Ikaw nalang." I stated, covering my face using my hands. Pilit niya namang inaalis iyon.
