- "You got this!" You mouthed, throwing your girlfriend an affirming thumbs up from behind the camera.
- she repaid you with a small smile, but you could tell she was trying to mask her nerves as she fidgeted in her seat.
- her eyes were darting around the room like they couldn't quite settle in on one fixed spot, whilst she fiddled with the marble button at the end of her sleeve.
- "Almost done." You heard Brian part with a hushed breath, before adding a few last minute touches to hayley's make-up look.
- it was a purple tinted eyeshadow, partnered with a tiny hint of sliver glitter and an almost entirely nude lip colour.
- you simply adored how her prominent features glistened in the gorgeous sunlight that protruded through the onlooking windows.
- natural light was seriously everything to these people, no wonder why they had so many huge skylights in this place.
- hayley had told you about the previous time she'd visited this filming studio for an interview with guys a few years back when after laughter dropped.
- when she reminisced about how cool she thought all the employees were and how they seemed genuinely invested in the art too.
- it wasn't unknown that hayley was apprehensive about venturing out alone on this solo album journey.
- she'd said it enough in magazine passages and radio catch ups to the point where it was general common knowledge.
- but, this process was part of necessary healing and it was cathartic for her in that sense.
- so, of course - you were behind her every step of the way, no doubt about it.
- then when she asked you to accompany her to an upcoming interview (despite her never suggesting it before) there was zero hesitation.
- you pondered with the idea that having more familiar faces around her, would help eliminate her anxiousness over the whole situation.
- eventually, coming to the conclusion that was why she'd asked you in the first place.
- after that, it didn't cross your mind again.
- upon witnessing her lips curve upward into a glowing grin - an unexpected sigh slipped from your own, one that you didn't know you were holding back.
- "Awesome, B." She thanked Brian kindly, repositioning herself swiftly to sit cross-legged on the white leather couch, which was absolutely pristine. "Looks good."
- "We all ready?" The camera crew chimes in, seeking approval from the interviewer who sat opposite hayley - completely gleaming.
- "I think so." Andrea confirmed, peering over to hayley briefly to seek her approval before giving the go ahead to start. "Let's go!"

- "1, 2, 3, ACTION!" You heard the camera man announce, displaying the numbers orderly on his fingers as he spoke - before silence settle in the room momentarily, his vision narrowing into the viewfinder.
- "Hayley, it's so good to have you back in the studio with us!" Andrea enthused, her jet black ponytail swaying back and forth as the words flew out of her. "How longs it been?"
- "Oh man," Hayley let out happily, with a small chuckle in tow as she rested her chin in her palm casually. "it's been way too long!"
- "It's so cool to finally be back here with you guys." She proceeded, her glossy green eyes as prominent as ever - whilst she kept up her professionalism.
- "It's real great, we're so glad." Andrea spoke quietly, glancing down at her stack of queue cards subconsciously before continuing.
- "But, today..." She carried on, her brows raised and eyes wide and she took in hayley's pleased expression.
- "...we ain't here to talk about Paramore."
- "Of course, as much as we love y'all," Andrea laughed cheekily and hayley let out a giggle, as she nodded along knowingly.
- "we're here to talk about you."
- "About the phenomenal album that you've just released into the world, for all of us to finally dive into as a whole." She complimented with a smile as sweet as sugar, halting her breath for second before proceeding to introduce her first question.
- "Tell us about Petals For Armor, Hayley?"
- "Dude, where do I even start?" Hayley scoffed with a bashful smile, that almost brought a tear to your eye - she never gave herself enough credit for her talent.
- "This album, was totally something... I wasn't expecting to happen, you know?"
- "Once we'd finished the After Laughter summer tour, we all sorta found ourselves at home again." Hayley explained - in great detail, her hands flying around in the air as she talked freely.
- "Which was real weird, man." She spoke lowly, her gaze locked into andrea's as the conversation went on. "After so long, like we've practically been touring our whole lives."
- "Oh yeah, definitely." Andrea replied, as she leant in closer - clearly interested and drawn into what hayley had to say.
- "And, I think when you spend so much time in such a hectic lifestyle..."
- "...it can cause your demons or other personal struggles to hide away, they disguise themselves." Hayley proceeded, and you observed her every move; the way she carried herself utterly breath-taking.
- "So, when I came back and had that time alone again - with my own thoughts, I realised there was more things I wanted to say."
- "At first, the songs that came out of it were just for myself..." She breathed, dropping her eyes down to her knuckles briefly before they resurfaced themselves again.
- "I get it," Andrea empathised, her tone understanding - as she crossed her legs expertly, toying with the rings that covered her fingers before engaging further. "they were necessary for you."
- "For sure, I mean there was shit that I was still struggling with mentally and I was going through it in therapy too."
- "It was a suggestion from your therapist to start expressing these emotions through music, right?" The dark haired lady queried all of sudden, an inquisitive streak seemingly taking over her.
- "Yeah!" Hayley praised sweetly, as she sat up in her seat - shifting into a more comfortable position. "So, that's where it all started with Petals For Armor essentially."
- "Wow," Andrea sighed heavily, flipping to her next coloured card then finishing. "what was it that made you take the plunge?"
- "It was the guys honestly, and overall the people in my life that've always had my back." Hayley answered honestly, her voice fading out little by little as she caught your eyes purposefully; causing an unpredictable blush to rush across your cheeks.
- "They encouraged me, you know?" She prompted, earning a distinct hum of approval from andrea - which was an incentive for her to carry on.
- "Cause I knew, that if wanted to do this... I'd wanna do the visuals, the promotion and everything else that goes with it too."
- "So, it was literally all or nothing?" Andrea proposed with a respective twinkle in her eye, and a small giggle.
- "Yeah, totally. That was it." Hayley nodded repeatedly - followed by a flurry of laughter, that soon proceeded to fade out as silence fell once again.
- "Alright..." Andrea sucked in a lengthy breath, inhaling sharply.
"...before we get into the album further and we go for a track by track." She pushed onward, with a smirk tugging at the corners of her mouth. "There was something I wanted to ask, if that's cool?"
- "Sure, go ahead." Hayley replied willingly, curiosity claiming her features - however, her body was still relaxed, her breathing insistent on sticking to it's regular pattern.
- "So if you can't tell us, don't worry about it." Andrea reassured her, a chuckle rattling from her throat as her navy blue eyes shot from one side of the room then back to the other.
- "However, we've heard rumours..." She went on, clearly intrigued and borderline desperate for an answer.
- "...are we getting a collab with Lil Uzi Vert?"
- that's when you saw hayley's demeanour shift, her limbs not as laid back as the once appeared.
- her face practically falling like a deck of cards, as you wrapped your knuckles around your kneecap anxiously - biting your bottom lip between your teeth.
- you made frequent eye-contact with brian from across the room; who had also contended onto the collapse of her features.
- it might've been difficult to notice, if you didn't know hayley all that well - but if you did, the look was seriously unmissable.
- "Um..." You saw her gulp, sweat appearing at her brow out of nowhere; she swiped at it aggressively. "I mean...."
- she knew her anxiety was back, and it was clear to see she didn't know if she could control it under so much pressure.
- "Hayley, it's totally chill if you can't confirm anything as of yet!" Andrea pried further, despite her words appearing kind they seemed to cause hayley to become even more uncomfortable. "Just know that we're excited."
- she just had to bolt.
- "Uh, I'm sorry-" She cleared her throat harshly, jolting up from her seat abruptly as she intentionally avoided any of the onlooking faces - including you.
- "Do you..." She stuttered, tying herself in knots as her words became tangled. "...think we could take five?"
- "Yes, yes! Of course, no worries." Andrea spoke loudly, her space frantic - as you witnessed her panic set in, she'd seriously just dropped herself in it.
- "I just need some air." Your girlfriend panted, rushing past you like lightening - her palm pressing against your shoulder momentarily to aid her necessary escape.
- "Is she alright?" Andrea questioned worriedly, upon hayley's swift exit - her face appeared sunken and concerned as clear stress wrinkles covered her forehead.
- "Totally." Brian shot a word in, before he proceeded to stammer a little; as he attempted  to gather his thoughts. "She's probably just nervous, right Y/N?"
- "Of course, yeah." You blurred out, the whole predicament completely unexpected and pretty out of the ordinary for hayley.
- "Maybe we should?" Brian then quickly suggested, picking up his jacket with haste as he gestured towards the fire doors.
- "I'll go." You stated with confidence, throwing him a quick nod of reassurance and an apologetic smile to the crew - before darting out the exit and into the crisp spring air.

- it only took you a few steady steps until you caught sight of hayley.
- she was across on the car park, almost yanking the handle off of your treasured racing green mini cooper.
- "Stupid fucking car!" She spat, her tiny feet stomping angrily against the concrete as she grumbled in dissatisfaction.
- "Hey you," You coaxed her round with a calming voice, as you got closer - reaching into the pocket of your blue denim jeans to retrieve your keys; dangling them on the end of your index finger.
- "you can't get in there without these." You finished slowly, as hayley's flushed red face and slightly dampened cheeks then became visible to you.
- "Thanks." She huffed, taking them from your grasp as she sniffled a little - wiping the tip of her nose with the back of her hand.
- "And, you know Dotty doesn't like being called stupid." You joked cheekily, referring to your pride and joy - tapping her bonnet twice to emphasise your point.
- that earned a smile from hayley.
- a tiny giggle dragging itself from the pit of her stomach, as she fumbled with the keys briefly before unlocking the car.
- "Sorry, Dotty." She apologised sincerely, as she slipped into the driver's seat - patting the steering wheel a few times, cutely playing into your little story.
- "Can I come in?" You asked her cautiously, swinging the passenger side door open and peaking your head through; with a toothy grin claiming your lips.
- "Yeah." Hayley let out in a sigh, her body gravitating further towards yours as soon as you settled down in the car - like she was in need of the physical contact.
- "You're alright." You soothed her, giving her a second to gather herself as you cupped her cheek in your palm.
- her eyelids fluttering closed gently, upon feeling your thumb stroke across her temple then down along her jawline.
- "What's going on?" You questioned, your tone coated in the utmost care as you spoke - not wanting to force her into telling you anything, if she didn't want to.
- "Have I screwed it up?" She questioned you back, worry lingering in her tear-tempted eyes as she looked up into yours.
- "No!" You told her honestly, placing both hands on her shoulders - as a intensely long exhale suddenly left her lips. "Of course not, why would you say that?"
- "I- I don't know." She stressed, her panicked expression back and in full force.
- "What's made you so upset, baby?" You cooed, stroking her hair lovingly in an attempt to regulate her uneven breaths.
- "I turned down that Lil Uzi Vert collab, you know?" She admitted abruptly, her doe like eyes widening when you seemed seriously unphased by her confession.
- "So?" You queried, confusion the main culprit clogging up your brian. "You don't have to do it, if you don't want to."
- "It's a big fucking deal though, Y/N."
- "Whatever." You said plainly, as you heard hayley scoff - breaking gaze momentarily, she wouldn't believe you.
- "You've just dropped a fucking fantastic album, Hayles!" You praised her, taking her face in your hands - to illustrate your statement, so she couldn't help but look at you.
- "The whole world just got fifteen fucking insane songs to listen to, from one of the most influential artists I know!" You explained at a frantic pace, with the most genuine excitement and enthusiasm there ever was.
- "So, who gives a shit if you didn't wanna do the collab?"
- "I didn't even realise that people knew it was a possibility," You observed her lips move with every single letter, her skilful fingers tucking a interfering strand of hair behind your ear. "and when she asked that I just..."
- "I didn't want people to be mad, the fans." She confessed sincerely, her wet cheekbones slowly but surly beginning to dry. "For turning down such a big collaboration, a fucking cool opportunity."
- "Stop beating yourself up over this, okay?" You encouraged her softly, trying your hardest to channel a positive energy.
- "Nobody's gonna be mad, and if they were for whatever silly reason - they'd soon realise that you've working your little butt of on this album for so long!" You persisted on with your techniques of reassurance, wrapping hayley's slender frame up in your arms as a form of further comfort.
- "They should be grateful, for the time and effort - you've worked so hard and I couldn't be any prouder of you.
- "I guess, you're right." Hayley mumbled sweetly, voice muffled into your grey jumper as she buried her face there.
- "The album's pretty damn good, right?" She gleamed brightly - her forehead pressing itself against your own as she parted with a reluctant shaky breath.
- "Fuck yeah!" You yelled loudly, immediately appreciating hayley's glorious belly laugh that circulated your car's interior walls. "And, you know it does, it SLAPS!"
- "I love you," Hayley surprisingly managed to form a full sentence, in amongst her persistent giggles as she lent into kiss you softly. "you know that?"
- "I know," You nodded along, kissing her back passionately and with all the love in the world. "and I love you too."
- "Now," You attempted a proposal, hayley's eyebrows raising inquisitively even though she knew exactly where you were going with this. "you wanna get back in there and let everybody how fucking rad this album is?"
- "As long as you're there with me." Hayley put up her limitations, a playful smile temping her features as she patiently awaited your answer.
- "All the way, I'm here." You promised, peering deeply into her sparkling green eyes whilst she hummed contently.
- "That's what I like to hear." She flashed you a cheeky wink, wrapping her fingers around your fist until they were all the way intertwined.
- "Let's do this, baby!"
