Where's My Kiss Goodbye? (Part 2!)

- -💥 - -
Context: This chapter is inspired by one of my favourite songs of all time, Take the Box by Amy Winehouse.
(One of Those) Crazy Girls by Paramore also deserves an honourable mention, as I was listening to it a lot whilst writing this!
I'd advice giving these songs a listen before starting the imagine, so that the storyline will make more sense.
⚠️ Triggers Warnings: Contains descriptions of an argument, mild violence and excessively strong language. ⚠️

- "Why are you here, Y/N?!" Hayley growled furiously, her roar so vicious that you thought she might just combust into flames at any given second. "Tell me!"
- "Hayley, please! Just let me explain." You all but begged her, holding your hands up willingly as you circulated the bed frame; your pace cautious and careful as her dilated pupils tracked your every move.
- "I'm just here to get my stuff, okay?" The collection of jumbled words flew from your lips frantically, as you tried to justify your unwarranted presence. "I didn't mean to intrude, seriously."
- you could see that hayley was hurting.
- there were black circles that consumed the skin beneath her eyes, which appeared sunken and slightly swollen; like she'd been crying.
- she seemed completely exhausted, her shoulders were visibly hunched over - like the weight they were carrying was simply too crippling for her to take anymore.
- despite the epitome of rage that had claimed her entire form; you knew, she didn't have the energy to keep screaming at you for long.
- it wasn't like her, at all.
- hayley hated shouting, she despised conflict and it always tore her heart to shreds whenever she found herself in a situation just like this one.
- "Well, good." She stated smugly, however her distress was evident; as she pulled back the flaps on the cardboard box to unload a bunch of your toiletries inside, carelessly.
- "This is the last of it then." She informed you coldly, before pushing past you - clearly agitated and upset, as she grabbed ahold of her handbag firmly to fling it over her shoulder.
- "Just take it and fucking go, won't you?" She cursed abruptly, upon noticing that you hadn't even made the effort to move an inch.
- "I can't stand your face right now." She grumbled under her breath, though you heard every last syllable loud and clear as her slim figure bolted towards the exit.
- her fingers fumbling clumsily to tie up her shower fresh strands, before she flung up the hood of her sweatshirt - to disguise herself further to the outside world.
- "Hayley, wait! Don't go, please." You reached out to stop her, desperation overriding your intentions as you gripped a little too hard onto her right arm and she retaliated.
- "I'm going to pick Alf up from my Mom's, alright?" Hayley yelled harshly, tearing herself away from your touch on purpose - which felt like a direct stab to the heart.
- "I'm already late as it is."
- "We need to talk." You heard your voice fall quieter, as you grew smaller - your hope to resolve the situation suddenly obliterated and your pride taking the biggest blow.
- "What's there to talk about anymore, Y/N?" She suddenly spat, her angst-filled facade slowly beginning to fade as salt water pooled around her sparkling eyes.
- "You made your thoughts pretty clear last weekend, when I saw you with that other girl at the bar." She continued with a quaking tone, it was clear she was trying incredibly hard not to explode; as she averted her gaze.
- walking over to the window, she turned her back to you - dropping her head down low, as she held her bottom lip between her teeth.
- "Hayles, I promise you..." You started, sucking in a lengthy breath of air before giving your all to drag your life back out of the gutter. "...It wasn't what it looked like."
- "It was a stupid drunken mistake, okay?" You explained to her further - hoping that she'd believe you, that she'd see you never wanted to hurt her in any kind of way.
- but, that wasn't the reaction you received.
- "Yeah, right!" Hayley spun round rapidly, her enraged pupils piercing through your flesh like daggers; as she burst out into a fit of menacing laughter. "I've heard that one before."
- "I didn't even kiss her." You then scoffed, the statement leaving your lips before you'd even had chance to think it over.
- your lack of consideration and empathy, only fuelling the fire further; as hayley stormed towards you, her middle finger digging itself into the centre of your chest.
- "That doesn't fucking matter, Y/N." She cried uncontrollably, the waterfall that had been threatening to fall for the past couple of minutes finally did - her emotions taking over. "You were supposed to be with me."
- "I know, I know." You nodded over and over in understanding, as you wrapped your own knuckles around hayley's clenched fists. "I was a fucking asshole and I'm so sorry."
- "I care about you, I wanna be with you." You carried on, feeling the need to properly clarify your apology as the look on hayley's face told you that she wasn't so sure. "I mean it."
- "Are you serious?" She queried, with a heavy heart and undeniable sigh of the unknown as she lifted her forehead up from your chest, where her tears had left marks on your t-shirt.
- "Cause, you don't make sense."
- she was still so defensive, and she had the right to be; you were the one in the wrong here.
- but, it was obvious that she'd missed the familiarity of your touch.
- as her tense fingers slowly began to separate, in order to intertwine themselves with your own - the pair of you standing inches apart, in the centre of her bedroom.
- you didn't expect to find yourself this close to her so soon, especially when she was still so torn up by your actions.
- though, you and hayley thrived off the simplicity of the human connection - that was what drew you to her in the first place.
- "Of course, I'm sure." You promised her, wholeheartedly - keeping your approach gentle as you amped yourself up to ask her the one unanswered question.
- "Why'd you ask that?" You prompted cautiously, with a set of frowned brows as you let go of hayley's left hand - to carefully coax the hood down off her head.
- "Because..." She exhaled lowly at first, before her voice acquired more volume; as she regretfully pulled away from you, her eyes shooting closed while tears began to trickle down her her rage-filled face.
- "When I said I wanted to slow things down," She breathed quietly - her body slumping down onto the edge of the bed as she sniffled, wiping her nose with the back of her sleeve. "It didn't mean that I didn't want you in my life anymore, Y/N."
- "I was just scared, you know?" Hayley admitted somewhat reluctantly, her breathing hitching as she chocked up even more.
- "Scared of what?" You encouraged her onward, with a soft tone laced with concern and care - as you discarded your backpack onto the floor to sit near her on the bed.
- "Letting someone in again." She replied a few moments later, glancing up at you briefly before looking away again - she felt so stupid.
- "Things were just moving so quickly and I panicked, that's all." She confirmed with certainty, and you nodded your head - taking it all in, you weren't here to ignore or neglect her feelings; they were all that mattered.
- "But, last weekend just made me rethink everything all over again..." Hayley began, speaking somewhat aggressively again - as you saw her grip tighten on the edge of the bed.
- "I didn't wanna be reminded of you." She then revealed out of nowhere, and in that very moment; you lost all hope of a second chance, as the girl you thought the whole world of ultimately told you to go.
- "I still don't wanna be reminded of you..." She announced, as she parted with an glass shattering scream - her arms shoving you away at the shoulders; knocking you off the bed and back against the nearest wall.

- "We can't do this anymore." You heard the dulcet tone of hayley's words, as they circulated your ears; her footsteps even and purposefully paced while she approached you - her demeanour still as harsh as ever.
- "Baby, please!" You visibly sobbed, it was only a matter of time before the collection of salt water tempted to fall from your own eyes too. "We can't give up like this."
- "I just don't know you..." Hayley trailed off painfully, like it hurt her to say those things but to her it was the truth - her reality.
- you had one last chance.
- and you blew it, BIG TIME.
- "Yes you do, Hayley!" You shouted back with just as much passion, dragging a hand through your hair roughly - as you practically grovelled at her feet; you couldn't let this go. "You know that we're meant to be together."
- "Yeah, you're right." The woman with the upper hand tricked you, into thinking that there was even the slightest possibly of the two of you reuniting for good. "I thought we were meant to be together too..."
- "But, I guess I was wrong." She finished sternly, verbalising her final thoughts as she picked up the cardboard box from the bed with both hands before making her way to you.
- "Take the box, Y/N."
- "Take it!" She pretty much ordered, pushing it into your hands with full force; though you didn't just accept it willingly, you rebelled - you weren't giving up on her so easily.
- "No I won't!" You said surly, holding your hands on the air as you shook your head, letting the box filled your belongings tumble to the ground. "I'm not going to leave."
- "For fuck's sake!" Hayley yelled abruptly, scowling downward at the floor where all of your possessions lay - messy and disorganised, which was quite the accurate representation of your life right now.
- "Give me one good reason why?" She demanded harshly, with her wet hair swaying in front of her reddened eyes; as she tugged the sleeves of her black hoodie over her knuckles. "Cause I'm sick of fighting."
- "Hayley... I... I think..." You stuttered out at first, your nerves kicking in - as you brought your fingertips up to brush the stray hairs from hayley's forehead.
- it was simply impossible not to be totally captivated by her beauty - even in a situation like this; in the middle of a fight.
- she was so vulnerable, yet so gorgeous still.
- you'd known for sometime, that she was more  than just someone you were casually dating.
- this felt so different to any relationship you'd ever had before; it scared you, in a sense.
- because you were terrified of losing her, petrified of anything happening to her or her of her getting seriously hurt.
- and there was only one reason for that.
- that undeniable urge, the duty of protection you possessed for her - it was imperative.
- "I think I love you." You found yourself confessing aloud for the very first time, and as the words escaped from your throat - you felt a ten ton weight lift from your chest.
- "You what? What'd you just say?" Hayley gawked out of utter shock, her jaw hanging open like she couldn't help it - her emerald green pearls wide, as she encouraged you to repeat yourself all over again.
- "I love you, Hayley. I really fucking love you." You reiterated sincerely, accentuating each letter with purpose - so that she couldn't miss a single little bit; you wanted her to know that you were completely serious.
- she was all you ever wanted, all you ever needed and then some.
- "Y/N... I... I wasn't expecting..." You heard her stammer cutely, her sentence disjointed as she began to bawl her eyes out once again.
- but, this time - they seemed to be happy tears, or so you hoped they were at least.
- "No, don't cry." You cooed softly, cupping her damp cheeks in your palms - so that you could swipe at the delicate skin, as she melted into you like old times. "I'm sorry."
- "I just needed to tell you that." You explained truthfully, witnessing hayley bare a small smile as she chuckled a little - the sight and sound of her happiness was you all needed to see.
- even if things still couldn't go back to how they were before; you'd given it all you got.
- "Well, I'm so glad you did." She replied almost instantly, as the pair of you lingered in that moment of unexpected bliss for a while until you felt her hands at your hips.
- her self-control crumbling within at matter of seconds, as she brought your lips together into a gentle yet passionate kiss.
- which you accepted immediately, allowing her to take the lead as you indulged in the spectacular sensation of her touch.
- the desperation and desire behind her movements was evident as you sensed her sigh deeply, her body falling flush into yours while she pushed you even further against the wall.
- "Is this my kiss goodbye?" Your voice echoed throughout hayley's quiet home - as pants and heavy breaths filled the surrounding air, her hands quickly moving up to rest at your shoulders before she graced you with a answer.
- "It doesn't have to be." Hayley said simply, pulling back from your lips briefly - to flash you a genuine grin, that melted your heart.
- "It's up to you." You responded kindly, as you lent down to press a tiny peck to the flushed skin of her cheek - her tears now dry.
- "I'd love to stay, but if you don't want-" You were about to give her the option, but she stopped you before you could even finish - her index finger pressing against your lips as she hushed you intently.
- "I want you here." She confirmed sweetly, as she took ahold of your hand - in an attempt to convince you further, that she'd fully accepted your apology and that you weren't going to lose her after all. "I really do, sweetheart."
- "Yeah?" You prompted ecstatically, following hayley's footsteps closely as she guided you over to the bed - where you were able to finally reclaim your place next to her.
- "Mhmm." Hayley hummed quietly, scooting further into your warmth as she traced the curve of your jaw with her thumb - before you leant in for another kiss.
- "I've never wanted anything more."

- "Hayles?" You whisper-yelled into the darkness, popping a tiny kiss atop of hayley's bare shoulder; as you continued to spoon her sleep induced form. "You awake?"
- "Hey, yeah. I'm here." You heard her reply promptly, though her voice was raspy - groggy in fact, you might've just woke her.
- "What's up, honey?" She questioned softly, as she turned over in bed to face you; her knuckles brushing gently against your cheek, which caused you to blush madly.
- though you doubted that hayley could see how fast your skin turned red, as it was almost pitch black in her bedroom.
- you could barely make out her features, even though they were so distinguished and perfectly pronounced.
- so, you decided to flick on the nearby lamp on the bedside table; meaning that hayley's beautiful smiling expression was totally visible to you, as she eagerly awaited what it was you had to say.
- "You know..." You started off hesitantly, as you laid back down next to the girl you adored, the pair of you just inches apart - the tips of your noses almost touching, as your disjointed breathes mingled with hers.
- "What I said before?" You prompted nervously, avoiding direct eye contact with the lady in front of you; as your fear of being completely vulnerable caught you off guard.
- "Yeah, I do." Hayley nodded, allowing you to take your time and not wanting to pressure you at all - but, she let know she was there by pressing her lips to your forehead lovingly.
- "Go on," She encouraged with the utmost care, before inviting you into her arms - so that you'd maybe feel more relaxed and able to open up fully. "You can tell me."
- "I meant every word of you, you know?" You swore to her honestly, purposefully lifting your head from her chest to look into her gleaming eyes as she hummed in understanding.
- "I really do love you," You promised her, with all of your heart and soul as you held back the inevitable flood of tears that were so tempted to fall. "and I'm sorry for how I acted."
- "I don't expect to you be ready, to say it back or to accept my apology right away." You powered through, with overriding determination and concern - you wanted to be one hundred percent truthful with hayley.
- as she didn't need have to take you back, or give you the time of day at all.
- but, she chose to.
- and you had to cherish that opportunity, with every single fibre of your being.
- you didn't know whether the immense feelings of love and longing you had for her were reciprocated - though you didn't want to demand an answer from her either.
- however, hayley was always full of surprises.
- "I do love you, Y/N." The platinum blonde then confessed happily, as she gazed at you intensely - leaving you totally lost, desperately gasping for air like a fish out of water.
- "You-You do?" You beamed brightly, as hayley nodded repeatedly - her glorious giggles filling your ears while she chuckled away at your bamboozled state. "Really?!"
- "Of course, you silly." She stated, swatting at your upper-bicep; before she pampered sloppy kisses to either side of your face. "Why do you think I was so fucking angry?"
- "Because I couldn't bare to lose you." She admitted, with a stunning smile and a set of flushed red cheeks - her laughter growing louder as you tugged her into the biggest hug.
- "Me either." You agreed wholeheartedly, inhaling your girlfriend's honey-sweet scent as she snuggled into you even further.
- "Think you can forgive me?" You then prompted cautiously, keeping you tone upbeat as you flicked off the light - darkness swallowing the room again, as you crept back under the covers to cuddle with hayley.
- despite the seriousness of your question, you put it in a way where she could shoot you a sarcastic response.
- if she wasn't so sure.
- but she didn't, hayley seemed completely certain of her answer - as she wrapped you up in her arms; your legs intertwining beneath the sheets and your toes touching.
- "I think I already have." She confirmed confidently, her immediate answer solidifying the possibly of a future together.
- as the level of intimacy you'd both been craving was achieved; the pair of you letting out a sigh of relief in union.
- verbal clarification was all that was necessary, she needed it as much as you did - this wasn't a goodbye, it was only the beginning.

🌞 Hey, my friends! 🌞
I hope you're all doing well + staying safe.
🥰🤍✨
This story is one that I've had in the works for a while now, and I knew that if I didn't post it soon I wouldn't finish it at all.
So, I'm glad the finished product is finally here.
• It was a pretty heavy and angst-filled chapter, but I think it's fun to mix things up a bit every now and again. •

💭 Please do lemme know your thoughts & feelings in the comments, I LOVE to hear your feedback on these posts 💭
It'd also be cool to know any ideas new/old artists you got into during quarantine? As Amy Winehouse was definitely one of mine.
🕊🖤⭐️
⭒ Her music has inspired me in a lot of ways, especially when it comes to writing - that's why I so desperately wanted to finish this imagine as this song in particular means a lot to me. ⭒

From now on, I'll primarily be focusing on the (3) outstanding requests that I have! I'll try to get through them as efficiently as possible, but please do bare with me cause my work schedule has been hectic lately. 🤭

♥ Until then, all the love & biggest hugs! ♥- M
