Derek was the first delinquent to die from the sickness Murphy had brought back, and as the bodies starting piling up, Margaret Kane grew more and more anxious. She had not yet shown any symptoms and was helping out where she could, even giving up her hammock for John. Clarke was currently examining Octavia who too hadn't yet become symptomatic. Meanwhile the Kane had just arrived back with fresh water, nearly bumping into Bellamy on her way in.
"Hey, how are you feeling?" He asked her as they stood at the end of the ramp. She nodded her head, avoiding to look at the dead teenager's not too far to her left. "Physically I'm good to go... but I don't think I'll ever get used people dying." She sighed, seeing Bellamy nod and smile sadly back at her. Shaking her head she looked back up at the boy forcing the frown off of her face. "How about you? You feeling okay?" Though she may have asked to distract from her thoughts, she was genuinely concerned for the Blake. "I'm good. Just take care of yourself in there Mags, okay?" Readjusting her grip on the 'bucket' of water she began walking up the ramp, hiding the smile that had appeared on her lips.
Lifting the flap of the tarp, Margaret's short amount of bliss dwindled, seeing everybodie's states. Letting out a heavy sigh, she was extremely lucky that she hadn't shown any symptoms just yet, and was hoping it would stay that way and she was somehow immune. But Margaret Kane was a realist, and she knew the chances of her getting sick were extremely high, so she decided to make use of her wellness while she could.
"Clarke. Here's the water." She announced to the Blonde, who despite being sick herself, smiled. "Thanks Margaret, I've sent Octavia to see Lincoln and maybe get a cure but... It's not looking promising." Seeing her friend in such a state truly pained Margaret, placing her hands on the girls shoulder Margaret looked at her sternly. "You need to rest, okay? I'll hold down the fort until Octavia gets back, but you need to get better."
The Griffin girl shook her head, wanting and needing to help where she could. "No. As long as I'm still standing I'll keep doing what I can to help these people." Knowing she couldn't win against the head-strong girl, Margarets arms fell to her side sending Clarke a sympathetic smile.
"You excelled in Biology and Genetic Science right?"Her friend asked over her shoulder as she began to walk away. Nodding her head in response, Margaret waited to see where Clarke was going with this statement. Using her silence as her cue to continue Clarke asked; "Is there any chance you could make a cure? Anything that could help?"
The Kane weighed her options, she didn't have medical materials as good as back on the Ark, and she had no idea how the grounders had even formulated the illness. But if there was even a slight chance that she could help in anyway, she would try. "You sure you don't need me in here?" She asked, still unsure and tentative. "Margaret. Go. Do whatever you have to do."
Nodding her head, she almost instantly ran out of the drop ship. Her plan was simple really, she knew without the proper equipment it would be near impossible to make a cure, so instead she would try and relieve the symptoms. It was the best she could do under the circumstances. Wracking her brain, she recalled that Clarke had told her about a seaweed that acted as a medicine when Jasper was injured. Then she thought back to Pike's 'Earth Skill' lessons; which flowers were medicinal and safe to ingest, her mind immediately falling to Echinacea's. She had read that the flowers were used to fight colds and infections back before the invention of antibiotics.
Grabbing a delinquent that was not yet sick by the arm, she quickly instructed them to have water boiling by the time she was back, next she set out to find Finn, he knew were the seaweed was and she hadn't seen him in the drop ship yet, meaning he wasn't sick. Locating his tent in the hopes that that's where he'd be, Margaret ducked under the flap, thankfully observing Raven Reye's and Finn Collin's who looked to be in what looked like a heated discussion.
