JiminJimin hugged her.
His heart took over while his mind screamed at him to not be so careless.
He could have said something.
He could have said so much more than just nothing.
But he didn't.
He hugged her.
And he wants to hug her again.
Her face had turned so red and Jimin liked it. He wants to make her blush like that all the time.
When he returns home, Mikey peeks out from his bedroom door.
"Mom went to sleep," he says. "You may just be lucky for tonight."
"Yeah?" Jimin snorts. "Not tomorrow."
Mikey sighs. "I wish I could do something."
"There's nothing you can do other than be here," Jimin says- maybe a little too harshly. He doesn't say anything to fix it though. Silence passes while Jimin pulls his shoes off until Mikey changes the subject.
"Tell me about the date. Did you get the girl?"
Jimin shakes his head. "I-I don't think it's the right time. And it wasn't a date."
"Dude you're in highschool. The right time is all the time. You want something, go get it. You won't be in highschool forever."
Jimin looks down. "You're saying that I should..."
"Ask her out. Take her somewhere nice. Make her like you."
Jimin bites his lip. "I don't want to make her-"
"You can't do anything with that attitude," Mikey says. "Okay, how about this? You tell her you like her the next time you see her. And if she doesn't feel the same, I'll take you to the pond and we can throw paper airplanes into it again."
Again. Jimin remembers the last time they went and did that. Under different circumstances, it would have been more fun. But it wasn't. And Jimin doesn't want to go again.
Jimin looks down. "I still feel like I need to wait."
"For what? For confirmation that she likes you?"
Jimin shrugs. "I dunno."
"If you wait for a sign that she likes you before doing anything else, you're wasting your time. Tell her, get on with it. If she doesn't like you, get over it, move on to the next girl. Don't waste your time."
Jimin grins. "I didn't take you for a therapist."
"Don't get sassy with me, I'm still older than you," he teases. Jimin giggles. Mikey ruffles his hair and pushes him toward his room.
"Go clean up," he says. "And go to sleep. Good night."
"Good night."
Jimin walks to his room and changes into a white T-shirt and gray sweatpants. Then he lays on his bed and plugs his phone in.
Before he can stop himself, he texts Y/n.
Her💘☺️😘
Thank you for today
No problem
It was fun
Next time though, I don't want to go in the photo booth with Gavin. He's hard to keep up withReally? How so?
I had three seconds to match his every pose and he is an indecisive prick
Jimin laughs.
Maybe we can do them together next time
Yeah
By the way I have a questionYeah?
How do you get your hair so soft?
Jimin smiles to himself.
I don't know it just is😂
Aish
My hair is rough and tangly and does not like to sit straightHaha I think it looks fine
Aw thanks
Tomorrow, do you maybe want to go to a park?
Yeah sure what time?
Whenever you can leave your house
There is no reply for five minutes. Jimin almost wonders if she doesn't want to hang out with him.
When Y/n finally replies, she gives Jimin a time and they agree to meet at the same spot where Autumn dropped them off.
They text until Y/n is tired and goes to sleep. Jimin can't go to sleep. He's too wrapped up with the idea of hanging out with her tomorrow.
Tomorrow morning.
Jimin can't wait to see her.
