Y/n
You watch Jimin with wide eyes and an open mouth. You're completely mesmerized by the way he moves so smoothly but hits every beat of the music. His fancy footwork is all over the ground, stepping here and there, jumping and twirling and just so perfect.
When he finishes, he is out of breath but regains it quickly. That's how you can tell he's been doing this for a long time.
"Dancing with you must be fun," you say offhandedly. Jimin grins. "If you can keep up. Wanna try some?"
You shake your head frantically. "I can not do that. There is no way."
Jimin laughs. "There was a time when I thought I wouldn't be able to do this," he says. "But here I am now."
You smile. He is proud of his talent. He should be.
"You could, like, be in one of those kpop groups my friend Sammy talks about all the time."
Jimin inhales through his teeth. "Ah, kpop fans. Mikey told me to watch out for them."
"Why?" You chuckle. Jimin shrugs. "He says that he met some in college and they come on strong. And all the 'oppa' talk."
You giggle. "Oppa?" Jimin nods. "It's what a girl calls a boy older than her if they're close enough. It usually means big brother but some Americans translate it to mean something a little more... ugh."
You raise an eyebrow at Jimin. "What does that mean?"
"No I won't say it. Maybe you should ask your friend," Jimin giggles. "It's so... awkward to say."
"Okay," you hum, grinning. "I'll ask her later."
Jimin sits down next to you. The sun is still rising- it's almost 9:20 so there is still a morning glow to the atmosphere even though the sun is pretty high. Dewdrops are shining in the grass and on trees.
Jimin pulls his legs up and sits crisscross apple sauce, facing you. You turn and face him too. He looks at you for a moment, then down at the space between you. He opens his mouth like he's about to say something, but then closes it again.
He recovers with a grin. "You still need to teach me all the bad words in english," he says.
You mirror his grin.
"I'll teach you one a day," you say. "Hm, what should we start with today?"
Jimin's hands are linked together. His hands look so warm and inviting and soft and you wanna touch them-
"How about damn?" You say. Jimin shrugs. "We say damn in many ways. Like when we are impressed or angry or embarrassed."
You explain the many uses of the word to Jimin and he relays it to you in Korean. You'll definitely know all the curse words in Korean by the end of the month.
Soon the sun is up high and it's no longer freezing. You feel warmer even if you're still covered in goosebumps.
You turn around and crawl into the little tunnel on the playground. It's even warmer inside. Jimin laughs and sits at the edge of the tunnel where your head is peeking out.
"Cute," he says. You blush hard.
Oh my god did he just call me cute!? Did Jimin just- he called me- am I really cute?
Jimin covers his mouth and blushes almost as hard as you.
"I-I didn't mean to- what-what I meant was- that- you just-"
You burst into laughter. Jimin blinks and then joins in with you. He's turned into me. You think.
Jimin sighs and leans back into one of the poles supporting the playground.
"What else do you have in your sketchbook?" Jimin asks. He points to the book that is still laying where you and Jimin were at before.
You feel your face heat up again.
"Um, nothing really," you say. Jimin grabs it and looks at the cover.
You know that violent instinct that takes over you whenever someone tries to look at something you've been working on (whether it's something like drawing naked people or writing fanfiction on your phone or anything really)?
Well it kicks in and you can't control yourself. You lunge forward and grab the sketchbook, panic written all over your face. You end up sprawled over his lap, clutching the sketchbook tightly to your chest. Jimin laughs.
"What's in it?" He asks. You scramble up off of him. "N-nothing. Nothing important."
"Oh really?"
"It's-its just some uh... messed up drawings. Unfinished stuff."
Jimin doesn't believe you. "Uh huh," he goads. "Right. It isn't something like, I dunno shirtless men?"
"Pfft," you spit, suddenly laughing. "What do you think I do all day? I have no care for shirtless men."
"Hmm, then is it-"
"I'm not going to tell you if you guess it right," you admit. "But by all means, attack my pride."
Jimin giggles. His eyes disappear as he smiles and your heart melts. You need to keep this boy.
You frown. "Why..." you pause to think. "Why do you spend time with me? I mean like, out of everyone you can hang out with today, you're here. With me."
You don't mean to ask the question like that, but it slips out anyway.
"What do you mean? Why wouldn't I?"
You shrug. "I mean, not very many people like to be my friend. Just Autumn."
"And Gavin."
"No not Gavin. I don't think he and I are really... friends, per say. But he's nice I guess."
"I'm here because I like your presence," Jimin says. "Technically, you're my first real friend here."
You smile. "Really?"
"Yeah."
Your heart flutters.
You end up talking for a while until a group of kids arrive at the playground. Then you both leave and walk around aimlessly.
"You should let me teach you how to dance," Jimin suggests, poking your forehead playfully. He's walking backwards in front of you.
You swat his hand away. "Only if you let me teach you how to draw."
"Deal."
"Wait, I-"
"Too late. I'm going to teach you how to dance."
You shake your head. "No, I cannot dance to save my life."
"Just wait till I'm done with you."
You laugh at Jimin's excitement and calm down. How bad can you really be?
Friggin terrible. You suck at dancing. Maybe it's because you've never really tried. Embarrassment wins you over before you can let loose at parties and stuff.
"Well for now, let's just get something to eat. I'm hungry," you say. Jimin nods and the two of you head to your house to get food.

I almost forgot about updating today. I've been busy for once so I almost didn't. Anyway I hope this chapter is okay. It was kind of hard to write because I wasn't in the mood when I did, so editing it today was kind of hard.
With that said, comment on anything you would like to comment on, and have a good night/day!<3
