I am in my room. I don't know what is happening. I write only to compose my thoughts.
Tonight I went outside of my home. I walked in the night air to try and calm my thoughts. I have been having so many bad dreams. No-one was around and I found myself in front of the entrance to the men's camp. It was quiet.
I pushed on the entrance door and it opened. The meeting area was dark and closed. The men were locked away in their sleeping quarters.
I walked around the bar and at the back was a door which led to an office. I went in and looked around. There was a filing cabinet that had files with names.
I found Lila's name on one file and my name on another.
I opened Lila's file first. There were photos of her body all broken and twisted.
I wanted to cry at the sight of it, but I flicked to the last page and read:
Subject dead. Client penalised 1.3 million.
I opened my file. More photos. This time it was my body.
I turned to the last page.
Subject damaged. Client penalised 220,000.
Reassigned to surrogate program.
