❝ oh, your sweet disposition,
and my wide-eyed gaze. ❞└────────────────────────┘
𝓢ARAH had fallen asleep on her dads yacht when she'd had an argument with her brother, every time she tried to go downstairs he was already there to start another bust up, so in the end she decided she was going to sit in the yacht: that was until she ended up falling asleep.
The sudden sound of movement made her fidget slightly, turning onto her side. When the loud shuffling only began to continue and become more obvious she let out a deep breathe. "Can i just not get any piece and quiet?" She groaned, slowly opening her eyes and expecting to see her brother.
Sarah suddenly sat up properly and adjusted her top, widening her eyes at the boy that stood before her. "You're not Rafe," She shook her head slightly and knitted her brows together. ("Correct, I am definitely not Rafe,") John B let out a breathe. The girl raised her brows at him, looking down at the equipment he had in his hands.
"Just filling them up," He held up the bags full of scuba gear and gave a short and awkward smile. "Sorry...for waking you up," John B then added whilst the girl sighed and shrugged slightly.
"It's whatever," She responded and pressed her lips together, staring at him before she flickered her eyes around the yacht awkwardly. He only nodded at her whilst she frowned her brows and pressed onto her phone screen, "Why are you so early?" She then asked before getting up and following him.
John B suddenly turned around and stopped her before she could follow him anymore, knowing that if his best friend even caught a glimpse of the blonde girl she'd go diabolical: not to mention the fact that if they were all there, it would definitely not look like a job. When he paused right in front of her she leaned back and raised her brows. "What?"
The boy leaned his head back slightly and turned to the side as he pretended to itch is neck, glancing at his boat to see JJ holding his hand over Stella's mouth, a burning death stare coming from the girl. "I said why are you so early?" She repeated, leaning forward to see what he was looking at but he only placed his hands on her shoulder and pushed her back.
"Is that Topper?" John B looked in the distance and frowned his brows, the blonde girl snorting and turning around to expect it to be a joke. When she saw a familiar blonde boy waiting at the end of the dock she turned back to John B only to see he was gone. "Goodbye, Sarah Cameron!" He shouted.
Sarah only scoffed and shook her head, saluting at him with two fingers before turning her middle finger into his direction. Before she could even try to make out the odd things sat at the bottom of their small boat, a voice called out to her. "Elle!"
"Why the hell is everyone up so early?" She whispered to herself before forcing a smile upon her lips, walking towards Topper who met her mid-way on the wooden dock. ("Who was that?") He asked. "Someone that works for my dad," She shrugged it off and leaned up to plant a kiss onto his lips.
"How come you're here so early?" She then asked him, searching for his eyes which still reminded on where John B was stood almost seconds ago. "Hello? Earth to Topper?" She laughed in a sing song voice, bringing her hand up to his cheek for him to look down on her.
"I just thought i'd set up breakfast for when you woke up, we would eat on the yacht, you know?" He then told her as he lifted his hand up to her face, a basket being on display as she grinned at him and then to the basket. "But it's not really a surprise anymore," He sighed.
"It's still perfect," She gave him a reassuring smile and kissed his cheek. "I'll go upstairs and pretend like I didn't see anything, just call me when it's ready," She whispered before making her way back towards her house.
Sarah walked across the wooden dock, the slight breeze pulling her hair back as she constantly tucked it behind her ear and watched her feet collide with each plank of wood. The encounter with John B replaying in her head as she pushed it out by colliding on her own bed, feeling the warmth and comfort straight away.
"So that was your plan? Steal scuba gear from Sarah frigging Cameron?" Stella sat on the edge of the boat in disbelief, staring down at her shoes as a sudden feeling of deject overwhelmed her. ("We did it for you, you said you wanted to scuba dive — what better than to steal the equipment from Princess of the Kooks herself?") John B told her as she scoffed. "What about Pope — or Kiara?" She sighed.
"Kiara has her shift and Pope's working on his scholarship," JJ told her, blowing out the smoke from his cigarette whilst he suddenly looked to her. The blonde boy felt happier knowing he could stare at Stella with his sunglasses on, to him he felt like she couldn't notice: but she always did.
"You have to admit it was fun," John B let out a chuckle whilst the slight breeze pulled his hair back. Stella only shook her head and creased her lips into a thin line, ("We didn't even do anything, just sat and waited for you,") She scoffed. "Well, technically i had to hold you back so you wouldn't —" JJ began but she only narrowed her eyes at him.
"C'mon Stell," John B removed one of his hands from the steering wheel and brought it to the side of her face, JJ widening his eyes whilst Stella furrowed her brows. "Now if we damage it you can feel some sort of vengeance," He said whilst she stood up and made her way to the front of the boat.
"Okay, it was pretty cool," She finally laughed. The boys both chuckled with her whilst she made her way to JJ, taking his sunglasses as she plopped them on top of her eyes, grabbing his hands whilst she gave them a squeeze.
