"𝓐RE you being serious right now?" Stella asked, walking around the counter island to follow her mother as the older woman continued to walk away from her daughter. ("Yes i'm being serious, Stella. You've had enough free time doing this and that without telling me where you are and with who,") Angelina spoke over her daughter. "You're acting like you've never met my friends before!" Stella's voice grew louder and angrier.
"And what did your dad say?" Angelina turned around finally, causing her daughter to stop before she bumped into the woman. Stella's brows knitted together as she bit down on her tongue, considering what she was going to say next.
"I don't know, aren't divorcing parents supposed to communicate over their children," Stella couldn't help herself. Feeling guilt ooze in as Angelina let a small gasp escape her lips, her mouth slightly open whilst her brows slowly began to pull down.
The older woman continued to walk away and towards the stairs once again, turning to her daughter when she met with the bottom step. Her mouth hung open, waiting for the words to fall out. Yet they never came. And so Angelina walked upstairs with a face Stella had never seen before. Reject.
Stella froze still, listening to the sound of her mother going upstairs before she let out a deep breathe and wiped her face aggressively. "Ugh!" She yelled to herself, picking up her jacket before she headed back outside to the front of her house.
John B and Kiara stared at Stella through the car window whereas the rest of the group, including Jasmine, watched her storm towards them from the large open side door. "So?" Kiara asked when Stella finally came close to hearing distance.
