Chapter 2 Investigation

You walked up to the door and opened it like you did every day. Thud. The sound of your bag falling off your back was as loud as ever.

"Daaaaaad I'm hoooome!" You called out but you got no answer. "Dad?" Still no answer. "Dad if this is a joke it's not funny." You made your way around the house checking every hiding spot.

You reached your dad's room. "Hello?" You walked in to see that room was a mess. Drawers were torn open, windows all opened, clothes everywhere but still no dad. You clasped your hands over your mouth, seeing a trail of blood on the floor. You followed it into the en suite.

Laying there on the floor was the body of your father laying in a pool of blood. You opened your mouth to scream but no sound came out.

You woke in a cold sweat, screaming before tears started streaming your face. You sat up looking around. Huh? This isn't my room. "Oh your finally awake." You couldn't make out who it was but they were concerned.

"Hello? Who's there?" Click.

Light filled the room. You were temporarily blinded by the light. "You really had me worried." The voice was clear enough for you to make out who it was. "Kokichi?" You pulled your hands away from your face to see the purple-haired boy sitting at the foot of his bed. He didn't have a fake smile on his face as usual. He looked uneasy like he was worried about something.

"W-what happened?" You called out shakily having just woken up. "Oh well, you kinda fainted. Clean on the spot." His voice sounded different like he wasn't trying to hide anything, like he was being sincere. "I carried you back to your room but it was locked so I brought you here."

"You still haven't told me where we are."

"Oh sorry, I brought you to my room. Why were you screaming just now?"

Wow, he's so different to normal. What's going on?

"Oh um, it's nothing, I'm fine."

"Thanks for carrying me back I'm going to go back to my room now."

You got up and your legs instantly gave out. It felt like an eternity of falling before you stopped. You felt Kokichi's arms stopping you.

"Th-thanks." He just nodded before he helped you up. He walked you back to your room silently. Before you could go inside he pulled you into a tight embrace.

"What are y-you doing?

He didn't answer you.

"Just stay safe okay."

You nodded and headed into your room. You slid under the covers and just lay there, thinking, too afraid to sleep in fear of remembering more about your past.

Why did Kokichi hug me? Why was he so worried about me? What if he's just trying to lower my guard to kill me? No, he wouldn't do that, he's not that type of person.

You slowly drifted off to sleep despite trying to occupy your mind.

"Ungh!" You groaned as the light forced its way into your eyes, like a spider who somehow managed to get into your bathroom. You glanced around the room seeing that you were still trapped in the ultimate academy. So it wasn't a dream?

You clambered out of bed slowly and walked over to your cupboard. Your walking style resembled that of a mindless zombie. You showered and were about to leave when you glanced at the clock.

6:27. Just great, woohoo. I guess I can look for a way out.

You walked out your door and left the dormitory.
