Tears still streaming down your face you pulled out your phone and dialled in the number.
"9.1.1 What's your emergency?"
"I-I need an am-ambulance please hu-hurry. My d-dad is hurt."
"Please try to calm down. Can you tell me where you live?"
You told her your address and started explaining to her what happened.
"I came h-home and he wasn't in the kitchen w-where he usually was. I-I looked for h-him and his room was a mess. There w-was blood on the floor and then I found h-him in the bathroom. And he w-wasn't moving."
"Okay, the ambulance is on their way now, okay."
"Thank y-you." You hung up the call. You could barely speak through the tears and sniffs and snivels. You turned around seeing your dad lying on the floor. You ran to the main bathroom next door and threw up. It felt like the life had been drained out of you. You felt so many mixed emotions that you didn't even know what you were feeling. Sadness? Anger? Despair?
No less than five minutes later the ambulance arrived at the door and you led the paramedics up to where your dad was. You couldn't even stay in the room without feeling sick. They came out five minutes later, a sad look on their faces.
"I'm sorry but there was nothing we could do for him. Police will be on their way shortly to investigate."
Tears streamed from your eyes like a river etching its way through a valley.
One of the paramedics leaned down to speak with you, eye to eye. "I am so sorry but we have to go now."
Ding. Dong.
Your dreams were cut short, much to your delight, by someone at the door ringing the doorbell to your room. You groggily clambered out of bed balancing on one leg. Before you could answer the door you heard a voice call out. "Helloooooo? (Y/N) are you ok?" You were too tired to tell who it was but you were pretty sure it was Kokichi from the impatient tone.
You hopped over to the door and flung it open. You were still in your pyjamas but you were too lazy to change. On the other side of the door was the small purple-haired boy. He was beaming and holding a pair of crutches in his hand. He handed the crutches to you, smiling even wider if that was even possible.
"Hmm?" You were taken aback by the kind gesture. "Where did you even get these? Why are you giving them to me?"
"Oh well after you went to bed," he started. Wow. This Kokichi is way different from yesterday. He put his hands behind his back standing casually. "Mom brought me to the infirmary to look for crutches." He smiled.
"Oh!" You felt heat lightly rise to your cheeks. You could only assume at this point that your cheeks had turned a light shade of pink. "You shouldn't have wasted your energy for me." You smiled even though you both knew it was forced.
Maybe he is just trying to gain your trust before he kills you. Why would anyone want to be around you?
"It's fine. Anyway if your leg doesn't get better how else will you join my organization."
"You want me to join your organization? Why?" You looked at him sceptically pointing at yourself as if to say, me?
He nodded like an excited kid. "Of course I want you to join. No, you are gonna join, because you're my friend and I want you to join."
Friend? I guess we kinda are friends.
"What does your organization do anyway?"
"We go on super dangerous secret missions." He looked so happy talking about his little gang that you couldn't help but smile. His smile was contagious.
